SKY

Papasok pa lamang sa PEAK ay marami nang bumabati sa akin. Celebrities, models, businessmen, and even some girls who obviously wanted to get noticed by the one and only Sky Contierra. I just gave them my signature smile before heading to my usual spot. I didn’t come here with anyone. Mag-isa lang ako ngayon. Gaya ng usual kong gawain after every business trip na natatapos ko.

Isa lamang ito sa mga gabing abala ako pero nangangailangan ng saglit na pahinga. This is my kind of rest. Booze, loud music and gyrating bodies is the kind of breather I live for. And this is the place I always head to kapag nangangailangan ng ganoong pahinga. I like the place. But more than that, there’s something here na palagi kong binabalik- balikan. Well, only for the past two months…

I settled on my usual spot at the bartender’s table. Agad akong nilapitan ni Hiro. He’s the bartender here. At dahil sa madalas ko nang pabalik balik rito ay naging magkaibigan na kami. Dala niya ang bottle ng whiskey na madalas kong inumin tuwing pumupunta ako rito. He also knows how I liked it served kaya hindi na nagtanong pa nang salinan ng inumin ang dala niyang glass at inilapit sa akin.

“Thanks.” I said before downing the liquor bottoms up.

He poured me another glass. “Planning to score tonight? Isang linggo ka ding nawala ah?”

“Business trip.” Tipid kong sagot bago muling tinungga ang kanyang s- in- erve. Awtomatikong lumipad ang tingin ko sa bandang kaliwa ko. Sa dulo ng booth ay nakaupo ang isang pamilyar na pigura. “Any happening while I was gone?”

Ngumisi si Hiro bago sinundan ang tinitingnan ko. Alam niya kung ano ang tinutukoy. Siya ang palagi kong kausap patungkol sa bagay na ito. Napansin niya ang interes ko sa isang iyon mula pa noong una akong mapadpad sa bar na ito.

“Same old. Hindi pa rin tumatanggap ng drinks mula sa admirers.” Tila amused na turan ni Hiro. Bumaling siya sa akin nang may nanghahamong tingin. “Bat di mo try? Dalawang buwan mo nang binabalik- balikan yan ah?”

Umiling lamang ako, nakangisi na rin. “Nah. I don’t work like that.”

“Hindi nga pala pumoporma ang isang Sky Contierra.”

Tumango lang ako. He knows it.

I don’t make the move when it comes to women. I never needed to. Sila ang kusang lumalapit.

Gaya na lamang ngayon…

“Hey, Sky…” Isang malambing na tinig ang narinig ko sa aking likuran. Kasunod niyon ay naramdaman ko ang marahang paghaplos sa aking balikat. A familiar face came into view.

“Rima. Hey.” Pagbati ko naman pagbalik. Rima is a beauty queen. She won a pageant a few months ago kung saan isa ako sa mga naging judge. After the pageant, dumiretso kami sa isang hotel to ‘celebrate’.

She smiled seductively at me. Ang kanyang kamay ay humahaplos sa aking balikat pababa sa aking dibdib. “So totoo nga ang mga usapin… you really do go here frequently.”

“Not frequently, Rima. Ngayon lang ulit.” Sagot ko naman. She didn’t need to know na madalas nga ako rito. “What’s up?”

“Hmm… I went here to see you…” Nag- angat siya ng tingin sa akin habang pinaglalaruan ang collar ng aking dress shirt.

I was in my navy dress shirt and slacks. Matapos ang isang meeting kanina ay dito ako dumiretso kaya medyo pormal pa. I just removed my coat and tie.

I smirked. I know where this is going.

Hinawakan ko ang kamay niyang nasa aking collar. “Where’s your boyfriend, Rima?”

She pouted and gave me her puppy dog eyes. “We broke up last month pa, Sky. I couldn’t get over you…”

“You shouldn’t have, Rima…” I said while smiling at her.

“Hindi mo ba nagustuhan ang gabing yon, Sky? Did you not crave for me again after that wild night?” Our breaths almost mixed because of our proximity. Inilapit niya ng husto ang kanyang katawan sa akin na halos kumandong na siya sa aking mga binti. I would have grabbed her and kissed her senseless kung hindi ko lang siya nakasama noon sa isang silid.

I don’t do girls twice. It’s always a onetime thing for me.

They all know it. I don’t promise them anything when I do them. It’s all pure carnal pleasure that I give them.

Mas lalo siyang nagngitngit sa galit. She couldn’t answer me. What can she ever say anyway? Wala naman talaga akong sinabi o ginawa para umasa siya. We just kissed and f****d, that was all.

“Umalis na kanina.” Ani Hiro nang mapansin ang tingin ko roon. Damn. She left already? Ang bilis naman ata? “Tinawanan pa nga yong babae mo habang paalis kanina.”

Damn. She was watching us? That girl is mysterious as f**k. She’s always by herself here. Umiinom mag-isa at tila naghihintay ng lalapit dahil sa palaging maikli at revealing na kasuotan. Pero kapag may nagtangka na ay agad ring tinu- turn down.

Ngayon lang ata ako nakakilala nang ganitong babae. Ipinagtanggol na pero tila masama pa ang loob. I could only shake my head. This girl sure is odd.

“A thank you would have sufficed.” I said while smiling, hindi sineseryoso ang ginagawang pagtataray ng babae.

“I just said that I can defend myself. Walang dahilan para pasalamatan kita.”

I whistled. This girl is really intriguing. Malakas ang loob magtaray. I wonder if this is one of her tactics. Some girls usually play the snobbish character para magpapansin. Pero kapag hindi napansin ay kusa ring bibigay at gagawa ng paraan upang mapansin.

“How else can you call that then? Two months. You’ve been coming here for two months cause you’re stalking me.”

I smirked at her. “Definitely not stalking.”

She rolled her eyes at me. “Why do you keep coming back here?”

“I wasn’t informed you own the place.”

I’m not usually this sarcastic with women but she amuses me. For some reason, I am enjoying pissing her off. She’s even hotter kapag nagtataray. Damn.

Her eyes narrowed at me. “Do you usually hit on women like that?”

“I don’t do that.” I smirked.

“So you’re not hitting on me?” She asked while c*****g an eyebrow.

“It depends.” I said. Her head tilted in confusion. “Do you want me to hit on you?”

“It depends.” She said while smirking. Damn. This girl knows how to play.

Tangina. I gotta have her. But Sky Contierra never pursues a woman.

Saglit akong napaisip. Is this a trick question? What should I say? Is there some kind of answer she wants to hear?
