Chapter 1 ( That boy is a Monster)

-Laurent De'Vall- "Let me out! You can't do this!" She yelled through the bars, just like the others. She looked so fragile with her petite frame. Her messy shoulder-length, brown curls were all in her face, and her light blue eyes seemed to hide underneath them, peeking out every so often. They looked youthful, almost like a doll, but they held a hint of mystery to them. She looked like a baby bird trapped in a cage. You know it belongs in the wild, yet someone is trying to tame it. She pulled on the bars, but of course, they didn't give. "Please let me out!" She yelled again, this time louder. I sighed; they all tried to yell until their voices were shrill. I observed her as she sat on her knees. Her coffee creamed skin looked like it almost glistened. They put her in a plain hospital-like gown. I scanned the empty cages alongside me; they were all empty. Her cage was right in front of mine. The girl's head lowered. Her hands squeezed into fists around the cage bars. Her head perked up; her eyes roamed the room until she found me. Her eyes went round; they looked glazed over. I felt my body tense. I looked away from her. "Hey!" She whispered loudly. "How long have you been in here?" She asked. Her voice was riddled with fear. "Longer than you'll be," I replied, but It was true. Everyone they brought back didn't survive. "What do they want with me?" She asked. "What did they do to you?" Her questions just kept coming. I finally looked at her and replied, "They want to see if you can kill a monster." Her heart-shaped face paled as she swallowed hard, "A monster? But why me? I know nothing about monsters..." She lingered on that sentence. I sighed; she would be a quick one then. "Do you want to live?" I asked. "Yes, of course, I do..." "Then you will fight harder, right?" Her brows drew together, "Of course I would but-" "Then you have nothing to worry about," I replied, then sized her up. She was petite. Probably easy to throw... "What kind of monster is it? Have you faced it yet? You must have, your still alive." She said as hope suddenly filled her voice where the fear had been. "I've dealt with this monster all my life," I replied, turning from her, not wanting to meet her gaze. Looking into her eyes made my desires flare, and it made something inside me stir... "You've been here that long?" The hope suddenly drained from her voice. The doors open as the guards in blue returned. They came for me first and cuffed me, then took her out and cuffed her to me. "Alright, I want no pulling, pushing, or fighting yet. Not until we get into Zone A. Got it?" He was talking to her. Not me. She shook her head, but her gaze turned to me as we started to walk down the hall. "Am I going in with you?" She whispered. I gave her no response; I just kept walking. The guard stopped at the door and uncuffed me. He placed the metal collar around my neck. I cringed as I heard it click closed. He then uncuffed her and opened Zone A. "Alright, go on in." He said to her. She cautiously walked in; then, I started to follow her once she was a good distance away. The guard stopped me before entering. "When that collar shocks you, you step away, ya hear?" He said through his teeth. I glared at him. "You know I can't do that." My muscles tightened. "Every time you've tried this, it ends up bloody." They didn't understand. Once they triggered it, it didn't want to be controlled. "I have the kill switch." The guard pulled out the sliver remote with one red button. "This is the last subject there trying. She should be able to escape you." He got in my face; my eyes burned from the smell of his rancid breath. "Now play nice, huh?" He faked a smile then pushed the button on the collar that sent a needle-like syringe into my neck. "Ah!" I fell to the floor. My neck felt like it was burning. The guard kicked me in my stomach. "GO." He said with a growl. I crawled into Zone A on my hands and knees. The pain was always too much to bear. He slammed the door behind me. I felt my blood pumping faster in my veins. My vision was changing. "Are you alright!?" Her voice was faint, but I heard it. I felt her hand on my back. I slapped my hand away. "Run," I demanded through my teeth, trying to bear through the pain. "But your hurt, Let me help-" I pushed her away. "NO! I said RUN!" I couldn't hold back much longer. I didn't want to hurt her. But, it wasn't my choice. "You don't understand. I AM THE MONSTER!" I saw her eyes fill with fear, but something else glistened behind that as she backed away from me. Finally, she started to run, and I blacked out. Hoping that when I came to, there would be no blood on my hands...
