CHAPTER 1 STELLA’S POV   I had spent my last four years in New York University. Going back home was something I had dreamt of since I got a chance to study abroad. I had missed my parents and more importantly, I had missed my boyfriend Caleb. We had successfully managed to have a long distance relationship throughout all those years and finally, it was a relief to go back to him.   I loved him so much and I couldn’t wait to have him on my arms. He promised to wait for me in the train station and I was so excited.   “Miss Haqq, right this way,” The hostess directed me to my seat.   “Thank you,” I answered respectfully before I settled in.   The other seat was not occupied. I didn’t bother, all I wanted was for this thirteen hours to pass so that I could reach my destination.   “Here is your seat Sir,” I heard the same hostess directing a man but I didn’t bother to look. All I wanted was to leave.   “Hi miss,” His warm voice eased to my ears when he decided to great me.   “Hi,” I sighed and I decided not to look. On a second thought, I said to myself, why not. Besides, he was going to be with me for thirteen f*****g hours. In which, we could talk in one way or the other.   A soft gasp escaped from my throat when I saw Erman Thomas sitting next to me. He pretty heard me gasping because his brown eyes stared deeply into mine and his eyebrows arched up in confusion.   “Stella Aubry?” He shook his head in disapproval. Oh no, he still remembered my name.   “I never thought we would meet again,” I hushed as my cheeks flushed red. It was so embarrassing meeting him after that night of my life that I wished to erase from my mind.   “Me too. I mean, where did you disappear to?” He asked.   “Well…” My jaws dropped.   How could I explain to him that I was at the strip club because my friends dared me to do so? He had noticed me in the club and called me. My girl Nichole ensured that I went to his table. For the first time, I set myself free and had a few drinks with him and after that, when he was expecting me to go back to his place with him to have s*x as he may have expected, I fled him.   “I thought you were into me,” He mumbled.   “You were wrong,” I countered.   “No woman says no to me,” He smirked.   “Maybe I am not just one of the many women who say yes to you,” I scoffed.   “I am hurt,” He placed his hand on his chest.   “No offence, I was just trying to be honest,” I chuckled a bit.   “Heading to Toronto?” He implored.   “Yes, I have to go home. I am finally done with school and what I am looking forward to, is to start working,” I mumbled.   “Wow, I wish you well,” He grinned. “Thank you,” I mouthed to him.   “LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WE ARE GOING TO STOP AT BINGHAMTON FOR SEVERAL HOURS TILL WE ARE ABLE TO GET A SOLUTION TO THE TECHNICAL ERROR. PLEASE BE CALM,” We were instructed.   “f**k!” I stated with gritted teeth. I mean, we were only halfway through to get to my boyfriend whom I loved so much.   “Trust me when I say that I am also pissed,” He shrugged.   “Hmph,I sighed blowing several breath. Now what?   “If you don’t mind we can grab some lunch. I know a place around,” He offered.   “I don’t think so.” I was declining but the loud growl on my stomach betrayed me. I was f*****g starving.   “Well, we better head out,” He held my hand and we got out of the train together. He quickly signaled a taxi which carried us to a fancy hotel nearby.   The place was classy and I remembered Nichole hinting to me that he might be a rich man. She was damn right.   “What can I get you?” The waiter come to my beck and call.   “Fries and two pieces of chicken. “ I placed my order.   “You should really try our milkshake ma’am. It is so sweet. It is called Tropical Salted Caramel,” He expounded on the same.   “Sure,” I didn’t want to blow his bubble plus I was not paying for the meal.   “What can I get you sir?” He turned to Erman.   “Fontana Dolce please,” He ordered the most common wine in Canada.   “Come on man, it is not even 12 noon,” I rolled my eyes at him after the waiter left.   “We have good moments only once. For real who knew I would meet you today?” He smiled.   “Well, I am flattered,” I battled by eyelashes shyly.   “Can I confess something?” He said out of the blues as I continued taking a bite of my tasty chicken.   “Go ahead,” I stated.   “I am into you. I have always dreamt of being with you since the day I first met you. You are so beautiful Stella,” I love straightforward guys but I didn’t mean this.   I remained baffled and started at him as if he was just from Mars.   “I am sorry if coming with you for lunch gave you hopes that I am into you. I have a boyfriend,” I hushed and threw daggers at him with my eyes.   “My heart is literally beating for you,” He continued and I figured that the best thing to do is to leave him and his high hopes on dating me. I loved Caleb so much and no one was going to break our relationship.   He was quick to notice the moment I go off the table. Before I could walk away, he pulled me back and I come crushing on his chest. I knew that is should push him away but I was taken aback by how built he was and for the first time since I sat next to him, I looked up and saw the most handsome man in the universe. He had nice beards and a charming smile that I was no paying attention to all along. Erman slipped his arms around my waist closing the space between us. I knew that I should run already but I didn’t. I knew that I love Caleb but my legs were too weak to move.   He grunted as soon as my lips touched his. Our lips connected but we were interrupted by the shrill ringing of my phone.   I got to my senses and pulled it out and when I saw Caleb’s number flushing on the screen. I was very much guilty for doing that to him.
