Chapter 1

“LIV COME ON!” Anna yelled at me for the 3rd time. Looking at myself one more time in the mirror, I shrugged. I really debated changing but, from Anna's voice, I didn't have time. Anna had picked out the tightest pair of jeans she could find for me and a simple white spaghetti-strapped tank top that showed about 2 inches of my stomach. My white blonde hair was straightened and Anna did my makeup, which is more than I am used to wearing. As I made my way out of my room, I realized I hated parties, but this was one time I had to go. I leave in 4 days for training to be one of the Kings Elite. This was my last chance to spend time with my closest friends before I leave for months. I had been preparing and training for as long as I can remember to be part of the Kings Elite. Becoming an Elite warrior would be worth not seeing everybody for a short period of time. I turned 18 in April and got my wolf Aura. Yep, I am a werewolf and the Elite protect the werewolf King. Only 2 other women have been selected to even train to be an Elite and I was number 3. I graduated at the end of May and found out I was leaving for training in the final week of June. The Elite training isn’t just physical training, but it is more like a school. They only take the best of the best. I have been studying hard and training harder. My Alpha tells me all the time I am one of his best warriors. If not his best. My Father is his Beta. My older brother is going to be the next Beta and my older sister is already married to an Alpha. I had to work hard just to be seen in my family. Don’t get me wrong, my parents are amazing, but being the middle child of 5 kids you tend to get forgotten. I have two younger twin brothers and they keep my mom busy most of the time. I made my way down the stairs to see Anna tapping her foot. With her stood my older brother Noah, her mate and the soon-to-be, Alpha Wyatt. Noah was only older by 11 months. We were what you call Irish twins because for 3 weeks and 2 days we were both the same age. We were super close, but not as close as Noah and Wyatt. “Damn girl. I am loving those jeans on you.” Wyatt said, licking his lips. “Dude, seriously she’s my sister.” Noah looked at Wyatt in disgust. “She looks fine as hell.” Wyatt always found a way to make me blush. He has been asking me out since he was 15 but I wanted to wait for my mate. He would always tell me it was him, but when he turned 18, I took one look in his eyes and knew I wasn’t his. But that didn’t stop him flirting with me. “Ok its an hour drive. Come on get in the car.” Anna said, rushing us out of the door. Wyatt and I got in the back of the car and Noah was behind the steering wheel and Anna sitting shotgun. “I can’t believe you leave in 4 days. I am going to miss you like crazy.” Wyatt said, resting his hand on my knee. “I am going to miss you too.” I said, smiling up at him. The truth is, I was going to miss him like crazy. “You could always just stay here and be my Luna.” He would always say this and it always caused my heart to skip a beat, but there is somebody else that is meant to be with him. “Wyatt, I love you but you deserve the woman that is made for you and that is not me.” “I know, I know, but you can’t blame me for trying,” he said with a wink. I just shook my head and smiled. The rest of the car ride was filled with us laughing and singing. We were on our way to visit two of our friends that graduated with Wyatt and Noah and had gone off to college. Becky and Saralynn decided to stay in the city instead of coming home to the pack. They said it would be the only chance they had to be normal. Here we stood about to go into a huge party where we didn’t know anybody 4 days before I left for the Elite training. Aura, my wolf pacing back and forth in my head. Something felt off, but against my better judgement, we went to the party.
