The Beauty Within The Beast World

  *Elizabeth* It was Monday morning, Ben had just gone to work and the kids are on their way to school. Another boring day in the life of a housewife. I put my shoes on and grabbed my keys, time to walk to the store to get some groceries for dinner. On my way there I saw this man standing next to his car. He was tall, with dark hair and dark eyes. Very handsome. He had a sparkle in his eyes that I've never seen before. It intrigued me. He seemed annoyed, he was listening to the man next to him talking. I wondered what they were talking about. The man next to him was talking so low I couldn't hear him, I wish I could. They left their car and started walking towards the alley way. I had nothing else to do, so I decided to follow. I shouldn't have because that's when it became clear I put myself in danger. The men I saw by the car jumped another man in the alley. The one whispering holding the man and the tall handsome one stood hitting him. Then he pulled a gun, put a silencer on it and shot him in the head. The body dropped and the men started to walk away from the dead body. I quickly hid, but instead of watching my surroundings I kicked a bucket next to the dumpster I was hiding behind. I thought to myself "oh no". A shadow approached me. It was him. Talk, dark eyed and handsome.       "Hello" Was all I managed to get out of my throat. What the hell, why would I say hello. I just watched him shoot someone and got caught so I say hello? Stupid me.       "What's a pretty lady like you sitting by a dumpster?" He says to me.       "I- I'm sorry I was just going to take a short cut back home and I didn't realize anyone was down here, so I kind of just hid in hopes nobody would see me" I quickly lied.      "Let me take you home" Was all he said. Was this it? Was he going to kill me? Put me in the car and just dump me somewhere? Think Elizabeth think.      "Thank you, but no thank you, I actually have to grab something from the store first, so you go ahead and I will just walk home" It's not an actual lie. I do have to get my groceries first.   "We will wait. Let's talk, My name is Ricky" was all he said to me. So I went ahead and grabbed what I needed. Ricky? That's a fitting name I guess. It doesn't seem like his type of name though. Why would he tell me his name? Is he going to kill me? I'm not even going to make it home am I? I got it the car, he asked where I lived so I told him. It was a long quiet ride, longer then usual. To my surprise he actually brought me home. I have nosey neighbors so if something happened now, they would see it. He gets out with me. I turn and look at him.     "I'm sorry but my house isn't tidy enough for company, thank you for the ride" I quickly lied. My house is definitely fine but I don't want them in it at all.   "We need to talk" was all he said. Why didn't he talk on the way here? He didn't even say a word. He wants to talk now? Why? I looked over and say my neighbor Macy looking out the window, I gave a helpless look. She must have saw because she quickly came out and over.    "Hello, Elizabeth! We have so much to do! You said you would help with the gardens today correct? I've been waiting for you! Let's get to it!" Macy says in excitement. "Oh hello, I wasn't paying attention, I'm Macy, and you are?" She says to the man. My look goes from her to him. His eyes were still on me. He looks at her then looks at me. What is he thinking. If only I could read minds right about now.  "I will come back another time, we have unfinished business" He says then gets back in his car, his driver starts the car then they drive away. I watch the car until it's out of view and then I look at Macy.   "Who was that? Why did you look like something was wrong? Is everything okay?" She kept asking questions I didn't know the answer to right away. I got a quick thank you out before I walked in my house. But that's all I could say was thank you. I couldn't tell anyone what I saw. If he wanted me dead it would have been on the way here in his car where nobody would have known. Or in the alley way before anyone saw me in the store. He told me his name, brought me home and saw my neighbor then said we have to talk another time? My mind is racing and I can't think straight. If he doesn't want to kill me now I'm not going to give him a reason to. It's best not to tell anyone what I saw for now. But now I don't even want to leave me house. What if he waits for me one day? I wont see it coming. It will just happen.          *BANG BANG*  I must have fallen asleep, a loud bang woke me up. Who would be banging on the door in the middle of the day? I slyly look out the window. A cop? A cop! Oh no. I can't deal with this right now. They know I'm a witness don't they? Cops don't ever come to my house?! I never give them a reason to. Stay calm I tell myself. I open the door.   "Hello officer how can I help you?" I sweetly say. "Ma'am we're investigating a murder and understand you were by the store around the time of the murder and wanted to know if you saw this man?" He shows me a picture of Ricky. Do they already have him? Are they trying to see if I will lie? Or is this a trick? The officer doesn't look like regular officers. I actually don't think I've ever seen home before. Is this a test from Ricky?  "Ma'am? The officer says again because I'm just blankly starting at the picture.  "I'm sorry I was just studying it, sometimes it takes a minute to know if I know someone or not, but I'm sorry I don't know this man."  "Thank you" he says and then walks off. I shut the door and slide down it. Why did this happen to me? Why did I have to be there at the wrong time and place?
