Wolves, Witches and Lies

Birthday

 Kiri shoots up and looks around. 'where am i?' I thinks to myself as I looks around slowly. She's in the middle of a large dark forest with huge redwood trees surrounding her. 'Am I dreaming?' I thinks as I stands up and starts to walk.

 a strange unknown female voice answers me  ‘we need to pay attention!’

As soon as I hear the voice, I hear other strange voices coming from a clearing in front of me. 3 strangely dressed people are speaking quietly around a campfire. 

a woman with fiery red hair and a blue cape, a cane walks around the fire and stops in front of the other two pointing at them with her wrinkled finger "we need to find Glenda!"

‘Are they talking about my grandmother?’  I asked the strange voice that spoke to me first.

 ‘Shh!!’ she tells me. ‘I know my grandmother wasn't a wolf, she was the first mortal who was a Luna.’ I thought to myself as I hid behind a large tree. 

A tall younger looking man about mid 40s with brown hair and purple eyes looks down at her short frame 

"calm down Lilly, Glenda's been missing for 50 years ever since she went with that wolf." he says the last word with disgust. 

So they are talking about my grandmother, what do they want with her?’  I ask the voice. she doesn't respond so i keep listening.

Lilly looks back at him getting frustrated "i know that Maxum! But her bloodline is the only one who can help us truly defeat him! What do you have to say about this Connie?”

 She looks over to the women with a red dress and cape who hasn't said anything yet. I can't see what she looks like very well because of the shadows from the fire. 

"I'm not sure, but i do know you're right about Glenda's bloodline." She says placing a hand on her chin."We don't even know if she's still alive or if she has any children with the powers. If we can find that out we might be able to stop him before he kills us all." 

Kiri is pulled from the dream and shoots up out of her bed in a cold sweat. ‘what the f**k was that?’ I think as i looks over at the clock on the nightstand. exactly 11 pm on Friday night and 24 hours until my 18 birthday. I grunts and covers my head with the blankets.

I knows I could have stayed up tonight to question Mitch on why he's been ignoring me for the past 2 days,but i was so tired earlier from finishing the science project so I wouldn't have to do it over the weekend. I did 8 hours worth of work in 4. now I could just enjoy the party and not worry about school work. now if only I could sleep.

Kiri wakes up Saturday morning with Becka jumping on her bed

 "Wake up sleepy head!! it's your birthday loser!'' I swear she's the only person allowed to get away with calling me that. I roll my eyes and pull the blankets back over my head. she grabs one of my pillows and starts beating me with it

 "get. up. now!" she says with each hit. I pull the covers off laughing, she's such a pain in the ass.

 "OK OK im up!'' I say to her and snatch the pillow away and chuck it at her as she jumps off my bed with a thud.  i look over at the clock at its already 11:30 am i slept through the alarm and breakfast.

I am supposed to meet my mom at noon. She said that she wanted to give me something for my 18th birthday. I groan as I climb out of bed and kick Becka out of my room. i run into my closet and grab my favorite red dress and matching red and pink pantie and bra set then get into the shower.

25 minutes later i am walking down the stairs of the pack house to meet my mom in the kitchen. "Hey mom." I say to her as I grab an orange to eat.

 "you slept in late." she says to me as I'm peeling the orange into the trash. 

"yeah i had this really weird dream about some weirdly dressed people talking about grandma in the forest." i say with a shrug. "it was so oddly real too." I say as I take my first bite.

she looks surprised for a minute but recovers quickly. 

"It was just a dream honey," she says with a wave of her hand. 

" Now, Follow me." she says with a smile as she heads upstairs. i look at her back suspiciously 

"well do you want your present or not?" she says from halfway up the stairs. 

we walk all the way to the top floor which is the alpha and beta's apartments, on the right is the Alphas space. she opens the door with a smile 

"Happy birthday hon." 

I've been in this place too many times to count, it has always been my mom's space with bright blue walls and a beach theme. 

But as I walk in it has been completely changed.

 It has soft green walls with a beautiful autumn theme. There's a deep brown couch with a matching chair and love seat, and a large flat screen TV in the living room, with a small kitchenette to the side. the office room had been totally redone to look like you had a forest full of different colored leaves growing behind the desk. 

"Mom?" i say to her standing in the middle of the living area "Are you giving me the Alpha apartment room early?'' I ask her as she has a huge grin on her face.

 "Yes, I moved into another one of the pack house about a month ago. Me and Walt both decided to let you and Mitch have your Apartments early. it's only fair for you both to be comfortable with your new living spaces before your ceremony.''

 I ran over to her and wrapped her in a tight hug. "Thank you mom." 

"you're so very welcome, sweetie. I'll have some of the omegas bring your stuff up so you and Becka can get ready for the party tonight here." 

by the time mom is done showing me everything in the apartment and we get all my stuff up here it's already 4. me and my mom were in the Bathroom she was showing me how all the fancy nozzles work in the shower, when she paused for a minute

 "hon some of the other packs are starting to show up and if i'm not there with Walt and the Andrew's to greet them all hell will break loose." she says with a chuckle. 

"It's ok mom, I need to start getting ready for the party anyways," I say to her as Becka is walking in the door. 

"have fun girls!" my mom calls out as she closes the door.

We get dressed in our gowns and Becka mom comes and does our hair. Becka's blonde hair is put up with tight curls and pinned back to show off her tan skin and green eyes. Becka's mom did mine to look like a pinup girl, it was put up in the front with curls and long wavy curls in the back. 

"damn Kiri you look amazing, if Mitch isn't your mate i'm sure you'll have one by the time the party's over looking like that!" i look over at her and roll my eyes

 ``oh shut it Becka, i know you're gonna be looking for your mate too at this party.'' We both finish getting ready and by the time we're done it's 7 o'clock and the party is in full swing. we walk out of the back door and one of the omegas announces us. 

"Kiri Silverstone Future Alpha of the blood-stone pack and her Gamma Becka Andrews.''

 We walk down the stairs of the pack house and find Mitch waiting for us.

 "Hey ladies'' he says with a wink, Becka laughs and looks him up and down. 

"look at you mister all dressed up!" she says pointing her finger at him. 

He looks amazing in a navy blue suit and matching tie, it makes his blonde hair  look even lighter and his brown eyes almost black.

 yummy. It's all what I think to myself looking at him.

 We look around and see all of our parents talking to a bunch of different pack leaders from all over.

 I see Becka pause for a moment and inhale deeply. She lets out a small growl and mumbles "mate" and starts to take off into the crowd of people.

 between our pack and all the visitors, there must be over 2 thousand people here. Luckily we have a very large yard of over an acre with a large stone stage where all of our ceremonies take place. me and Mitch just laugh as we see Becka pushing her way into the crowd. 

"i feel bad for anyone who gets in her way" i say to him, he chuckles 

"yeah.... did your mom give you your birthday present early too?'' he asks me 

"yeah we had a bunch of omegas bring up all of my stuff so i'll be in my apartment tonight."

there was a brief pause between us.  "yeah me too..... you wanna go get some food?"

 At this question my stomach growls in response since the only thing I had to eat today was an orange. He grins and we both walk over to the buffet. We pile up our plates with sushi, pot stickers and fruit. Both of our favorite foods are Chinese so we specifically requested it.

 We sit down at a table and quietly eat our food together. After a few minutes I see Kora walk over in a short skimpy red dress and roll my eyes. 

'Pack slut alert' i mind-link him. He raises his eyebrows as she puts her hand on his shoulder.

 "hi Mitchy" she purrs at him as she puts both hands over him now. 

goddess i hate her so much. he just rolls his eyes and keeps eating

"Don't you have some poor stranger to give your STD's too?" I ask her with a glare. 

she huffs at me but doesn't say anything. She knows that if she mouths off to me I can rip her to shreds. 

She ignores me but continues to pester Mitch. I can tell she is mind-linking him something but I have no idea what. After a minute he startles me by shoving her off of him 

"get away from me, you're disgusting!" he yells at her, she runs off with her tail between her legs. I look at him with wide eyes

 ``what in the world did she say?"

 "you do not want to know '' he said back with a shiver. after we're done eating he gets up "i'm going to go find my dad'' he walks off quickly leaving me by myself. 

I decided to walk around and say hi to a few people i know and introduce myself to some of the other Alphas and Lunas at the party. After talking with a few of the Lunas, I find Becka Hanging all over a tall, lean brown hair and blue eyes guy. 

"Hey Becka, finally found you." i say to her but she just grunts back to engrossed with her new man. 'BECKA' I mind-linked her using my Alpha tone. 

"yes?" she says, still not looking at me. "Are you going to introduce us or do i have to peel you away from him?" she positions herself to his side and finally looks at me. 

"Drew this is my soon to be Alpha Kiri, Kiri this is Drew 3rd son of Alpha James and Luna Kate, and my Mate." she says with a smile full of love. 

"are you waiting for me to dismiss you so you can go mark each other?" i ask her shortly with a raised eyebrow. 

she looks me in the eyes while mind-linking me 'yes please!'

 I give her a short nod and not missing a beat she drags him to the pack house. i mind-link her before she gets too far 'you two better be back here by 11 pm for mine and Mitch's birthdays' she looks back at me from the back door and gives a thumbs up.
