The Meeting

Leon P.O.V. I was up in my office with my woman of the day when Mike, my top warrior, mind linked me about the rogues wishing to speak to me. I groaned and pulled out of the loose woman, pulling my pants up and buttoning them. "Hey! What the hell are you doing?" Cassie asked me, obviously annoyed. I rolled my eyes at her. Her voice was already getting on my nerves. I walked over to the cupboard and grabbed a glass and the expensive bottle of bourbon and brought it back over to my desk. "You need to get up, get dressed, and get the hell out of my office, Cassie. I have business to attend to," I told her, not even sparing her a glance. She crossed her arms over her fake breasts and huffed. I had to fight the urge to roll my eyes once again. "My name is Chelsea," she said. I just shrugged my shoulders. There's too many women, I can't keep track of all of them. "Whatever. That doesn't change the fact that you need to leave. Now," I said in a more commanding tone. She finally got up off my desk and picked her shirt up off the floor, pulling it over herself. Even with the shirt on though, she still looked bare. Which is exactly how I like them, easy. I buttoned up my shirt, leaving the top few undone, and sat back in my chair. Grabbing the bottle and opening it, I poured myself a tall glass and knocked it back in one gulp. For some reason, my wolf, Killian, was on edge and it was bothering the hell out of me. "What the hell has crawled up your ass?" I asked him. But he only whimpered in reply. Weird.  I heard Chelseas high heels clopping back over to my desk and when I looked up, she had leaned over, exposing her chest even more than it already was, and started running her painted fingers through my chest hair. Killian growled. What the f**k is up with him all of the sudden? "If you want anymore fun tonight, baby, you know where to find me," she said, trying to sound seductive. She sounds like two crows fighting a cat. I shook my head at her and laughed. "Let me guess, in one of my warriors bed?" I asked sarcastically. She glared at me while I just chuckled, pouring myself another glass. "Now, will you please get the hell out of my office." She stood up to leave and just as she did, there was a knock on the door. I sighed. Just great. "Enter," I said, already irritated. Mike opened the door and stepped aside for the two figures to enter the room. I was immediately intoxicated by a scent. I closed my eyes and inhaled it deeply. Fresh cotton and magnolias, with just a hint of rain. I've never smelled any woman like this before. It was pure. I opened my eyes to find an older scruffy looking man standing right in front of my desk with a smaller figure behind him. I figured it must have been the girl with the scent. She had a dirty and torn cloak on with the hood up, so all I could really see from her was her long curly black hair that reached to her lower waist. Killian started pacing in my mind. He wanted to see her just as much as I did. "Mike, you look good today," Chelsea said as she was walking out. She was running her hand across his chest as he looked at her in disgust. "Don't f*****g touch me," he told her, throwing her hand off of him. She just giggled like the i***t she is. Mike stepped in the room and shut the door behind him, standing guard. I let out another sigh. Let's get this over with. "Alright, rogue, what the hell are you doing here?" I asked the old man coldly. "Your Highness," he bowed. I rolled my eyes at him. "I've come looking for a trade." I laughed out loud at him. "And what makes you think you have anything that I want?" "Honestly, my King, I already know that nobody wants this b***h here with me," he said gesturing to the small woman with him. "But she does know how to follow orders well, she makes a very good slave. All I am asking for is a safe place for me to live the rest of my life out." I could smell the betrayal thick in the air. I don't know who she is to him, but I could tell that she probably had no idea of this. And this only aggravated me further. I got up from my chair and walked around until I was standing right in front of the girl. I heard her intake a sharp breath, she was scared. "Remove your hood," I told her quietly, as trying not to make her anymore fearful. She hesitated for a moment, looking at the old man for approval, but before he could speak, Mike did. "Did you not hear your King? He ordered to remove...." I cut him off with my hand. "Actually, she is human so she is not mine to order because I am not her King," I said to him. He went back to his position standing guard. "Let me rephrase, will you please remove your hood?" I asked her gently. She brought her hands up to the hood and slowly pulled it down, looking me in the eyes. And for a second, I couldn't breathe. She was beautiful. More than beautiful, she was a living Goddess. I don't think I've ever seen a human or even a she-wolf who is as beautiful as she. Her skin was a fair olive tone and her silky black hair framed out her heart shaped face. Her lips were pink and plump, while she had a little button nose with a freckle right at the tip of it. And don't even get me started about her eyes. They were big, teal colored doe eyes with perfectly arched eyebrows and thick full eyelashes to define them. I was awe-struck by her. And that's when I saw it. Her right eye was black and she had a red handprint on her left cheek. There was an older cut on her lip that looked like it had been healing. Killian growled which ended up escaping my own lips. Her eyes went big with fear and I could see the old man smirk, thinking it was directed towards her. I closed my eyes to try and calm down when a thought came to mind. With a wicked smile plastered on my face, I turned to look at the old man. "Good news...." I gestured for his name. "James," he responded. I nodded. "Well, James, I will accept your offer. I will give you place to live out the rest of your short life here on Kingdom grounds. It is furnished and I will even make sure you get three meals a day," I told him. "Oh my Goddess, thank you, my King," his eyes were about to bulge out of his head and he turned to the girl giving her a smug look. "No problem, you deserve this. Just shake my hand and I will have Mike escort you there right away." Just as I thought, he wasted no time grabbing my outstretched hand and shaking it rather vigorously. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," he exclaimed. He dropped my hand and I looked at Mike with a smile. "Mike, will you please escort this rogue to the dungeons now, our business here is done," I told him. The room grew so quiet you could hear a pin drop. But boy, watching his face completely fall has been the best part of my day. So far. I didn't miss the glare full of hatred and disgust he shot towards the girl. I could smell her fear which was only pissing my wolf off even more. "What did you do!?" he shouted at her. "This is all your fault, you fucking..." he started charging towards her, raising his fist up to strike her. Using my Alpha speed, I stepped in front of her and hit him square in the jaw. He stumbled onto the ground with a look of bewilderment. Mike went over to him and grabbed him up by his jacket. His breathing had turned rather jagged and I could tell he was pissed which only amused me more. I walked right up to him until our noses were almost touching. He looked away from my gaze and, without knowing, showed his neck in submission. I grabbed his face and turned it so that he was looking at me. "Hear this now, rogue, she is not yours to touch, talk to, or even think of anymore. And if I ever find out you have, I will take great pleasure in ending your miserable life. Now get him the f**k out of my office," I said in a deadly tone. Mike drug him out and down the hallway. I closed the door behind them and sighed, closing my eyes. What the hell just happened? "Talk to her," Killian said in my mind. I turned around to look at her and she, once again, left me breathless. She was twiddling her fingers looking at all the books on the bookshelf behind her. I walked up beside her and put my hands in my pocket. "I've never seen so many books before," she whispered. I chuckled. "You're welcome to read anything you'd like," I told her. We turned to face each other and she just looked so adorable being nervous. I couldn't hide my smile. "Thank you," she said softly. "No problem. I've read all these anyway, some I've even read two or three times." She giggled. "Actually, I meant thank you for not letting him hit me." She looked down and blushed, sparing me one glance. "You don't have to thank me for that. I extremely dislike anyone that abuses women," I told her. "You won't have to worry about it happening anymore while you're in my Kingdom." "Really? It doesn't matter that I am human?" she asked. "What? No, why would it?" She looked down and blushed again. "Alpha always told me that I would be killed for being a human," she whispered so lowly, I don't think I would've heard it without my enhanced senses. I sighed and looked her in the eyes. "That is absolutely not true. As long as you're here with me, you will be safe," I promised her. Then something hit me. "Wait, who was your Alpha?" "That man that I came here with," she said, pointing to the door. "He's always had me call him that ever since I was young. He said that it was because he was above me and that I should respect him for taking care of me my whole life." She sighed and looked away. We were quiet for a little while. Just stealing quick looks at each other until I finally broke the silence. "So, what is your name?" I asked her. She looked at me and smiled. "Sage. My name is Sage." "That's a beautiful name, it suits you perfectly," I told her. Her cheeks flushed a bright pink color, causing me to smile. "My name is Leon." "Well then, thank you, King Leon," she said, bowing slightly. "No, no. No formalities, just Leon." She smiled so big, causing my wolf to howl in joy. I loved the way my name rolled off her tongue. I started imagining her moaning it while beneath me, over and over again while I licked her..... "KILLIAN," I yelled at him. He just snickered in response. I mentally rolled my eyes and pushed him to the back of my mind. I cleared my throat and looked back up at Sage. "So, would you like to see your new room?" I asked her. She looked shocked for a second, before nodding eagerly and smiling. I smiled back at her and outstretched my hand for her to grab so I could lead her there. She looked back and forth between me and my hand for a minute before finally reaching out and grabbing it. But, as soon as our skin touched, we both drew back in surprise. There were sparks, strong ones. Which confused the hell out of me. It has never happened before and I'm pretty sure it only happens to mates. But I don't have a mate. I never will. "I'm sorry," she said. "Don't be, it happens all the time," I lied "Oh..., okay," she looked down, sounding almost as if she was disappointed. I ran my hand through my hair and opened the door for her. "Well, let's get going," I said. As she walked out past me, I took a deep breath, taking in her scent. What the hell have I gotten myself into?
