CHAPTER THREE -- First Day

2323 Words
Raven Lynn Stone For some unknown reasons, I have woken up peacefully from my deep slumber, after gathering the rest of my strength, I tried to get out of my bed and started doing my morning rituals. I have classes that will start exactly at eight and it's already 6:30 a.m. now, so I better get my cute ass moving. After taking a bath and was finally dressed, I decided to look over the large mirror beside my cream-colored cabinet to see my reflection. And there I am, the way how my blue eyes radiated the moment I have looked into the mirror mesmerized my self, my wavy grey ombre hair that falls perfectly behind my back matches my outfit well for today. I'm wearing a black long sleeve fitted crop top partnered with my denim jeans and white sneakers. I have fair skin, rosy cheeks, and lips so I'm fine leaving without makeup, I'm not a fan of it anyways. Contented with my look, I grabbed my lavender bag and went downstairs to eat my breakfast with them. I was still curious about the Hunter Organization, so I have decided to ask them that while eating. "Good morning mom, dad!" I greeted them happily.   "Good morning darling! Someone's excited about her first day huh?" My mom said trying to tease me as she placed my hot chocolate beside my plate.   "I'm not that excited mom," I muttered shyly while taking a sip on my hot chocolate. Hmm! Yum! This is life! "Oh? Good morning sweetheart, you look beautiful! I hope you'll have a great first day," my dad complimented me as he sat on the chair beside me.   "Thanks, dad, and I'm sure I'll have one," I smiled and started to fill in my plate with a cheese omelet and fried rice. When I was still a child, my mom won’t allow me to leave the house without eating rice for breakfast, she has always said that my body needs lots of energy for the whole day. That's why I need to eat a heavy meal every morning. It's okay though because my body stays normal, it doesn't get too fat or slim. "So dad about last night, what does the Hunter Organization means? Why did they bring guns to our house?" my questions made both of them look at me.   "Oh they just came home from a hunt and went towards our house to welcome you and don't worry sweetheart, we're just a group of people that helps protect the town from wild animals..." my dad explained while smiling at me. He's a part of it huh?   "Oh, I see... Wild animals? What kind?" I asked, still slightly curious about it.   "Oh, you know... bears, sometimes wild boars, and most especially wolves," my dad said and earning a side nudge from mom.   "Hon, don't scare your daughter!" my mom said trying to sound playful, but I didn't listen to her.   "Wolves? There are wolves here?" I asked starting to get more curious, I admire wolves even werewolves when I have read stories about them before, and there's a big difference between these two.   Werewolves are humans that can transform into a wolf-like being while on the other hand, wolves are simple four-legged creatures that can't transform into any other figure. Werewolves are super strong, whereas wolves only have only ordinary strengths, speed, and senses like domesticated dogs normally have.   "Yes they won't come near us I promise you, that's why they have built that Organization to protect us and I will protect you," my dad said trying to reassure me, so I just smiled.   "Fine.. but please don't hurt yourself out there and only hurt the animals that harm others okay?" I pleaded to him, he laughed and just patted my head.   "Don't worry about it sweetheart, I'll be fine that Organization became stronger and organized because of Jason Lee the son of our Head, he's a pretty strong kid and he manages the Organization now?" my dad said, he was probably admiring him so I just shrugged. So, Jason wasn't just a man with a weird gun but also the future Heir of their Organization. My eyes look towards our wall clock and saw that it's already 7:30 a.m. "Crap! I don't want to be late on my first day!" I exclaimed and earned a chuckle, but I didn't mind them. Immediately, I tried to finish my breakfast, brush my teeth, grab my bag, and mom's keys.   "Have a nice day sweetheart! Drive safely!" dad said while waving his hands when I was running through our main door.   "Have a safe trip too darling!" I heard mom said.   "I will! See you guys later!" I shouted and went to the garage to start the engine of our car and drove to my school. Since this town is small, I immediately found out where the University was. I have parked the car on a lot and went outside, threading my lavender bag lightly on my right shoulder, I breathe in a lungful air and started walking through the main entrance of the school. The school is huge and very wide, the whole Westville University name was placed boldly on the top together with their weird logo. I don't know... it's a combination of a gun and a werewolf, this town seems to be a fan of guns and werewolves. While walking and finally entering the main entrance, I immediately took out my map and schedule trying to figure out where my locker and room were. I can't seem to focus because wherever I glance people stare at me intently. Geez! Haven't they seen a person in their lives? I get it I'm new! Don't stare at me like I'm some weird experiment specimen! My mind shouted, but I remained in my blank face. "Hey! Raven!" I almost frowned upon witnessing all of their head turned to Cass who was already running towards me. I smiled and looked at her with relief, it's so nice to see a face of a person familiar to you especially in a new school. "Hello, Cass!" I greeted her as I heard many bees buzzing around the corner saying so her name's Raven, but I didn't mind them.   "Holy popcorns can't they whisper even more loudly?" Cass said with disgust, making me laugh at her sarcastic statement.   "So what's the problem? Are you lost? Do you want me to help you find your locker and room?" She offered while smiling at me.   "You'll do that? You're practically an angel," I happily said while tugging my fallen hair on my right ear.   "Of course why not for a friend! Let me see," she beamed as she took my schedule off my hands.   "Bummer! P.E is the only class we have the same schedule on today," Cass frowned, she looks so disappointed.   "Well, better have one than nothing," I said trying to cheer her up. "Yeah maybe you're right, I'll take you to your locker first then next to your room, don't worry places here aren't that hard to find you'll get used to it soon," she said and I just nodded. We have found my locker in a nick of time. I encoded my given codes and put some reference books, gym clothes, and running shoes in there.   "So Rave, I was wondering if you want to join us for lunch later?" Cass said so I faced her after closing my locker.   "Sure why not?" I said making her smile.   "Oh by the way, if you don't mind we're also having lunch with Carson and his friends," she said cheerfully as she grabs my arms towards the hallways to find my room.   "Sure I don't mind, as long as they won't mind too," I said making her snort.   "They won't mind and believe me, they were dying to meet you ever since I talked about you yesterday!" she said and I immediately got nervous.   "T-That's a bit scary hahaha," I said trying not to sound so terrified. I don't like people expecting something from me. I’ve always been avoiding that.   "Don't be, they're nice I promise you," Cass immediately stopped on a door beside us, I glanced at my schedule and this is the right place where my first subject begins, I have found my room easily thanks to her.   "Thank you for helping me Cass," I said making her smile genuinely again. The bell rings just in time.   "No problem and that's my cue, I'll see you later then!" Cass said and ran like a flash through the hallways. Feeling the corners of my lips lift, I open the door of my room earning heads and eyes to look on my way.  My smile immediately faded, I mentally groaned and just set my eyes to look for a chair. Our room is an Auditoria Lecture Classroom with a sloped floor and stadium-type seating probably because it's English, my eyebrows raised in confusion when I saw the left and right side of the room is packed with students seated but the center ones were empty. Weird... I shrugged and went towards the empty, unused-looking chairs on the center earning gasps and murmurs from my surroundings. "Why is she seating there?! Is she part of them?" "I don't know girl it's hard to tell, but I think she's a human?" "She's a newbie! Of course, she didn't know," "Oh my I hope she'll be fine.. she's gorgeous you know?" "Stop that Eric! She can hear you damn it!" I heard the bees keep buzzing those words... What's wrong with me seating in the middle? And why is my identity being questioned again? Do I not look human at all? I shook my head and took out my notebook and ballpoint pen, this is my habit whenever I go to class, write down notes. The door went open and I saw five students entering our room together with our professor. They're practically blessed by the gods above because of their unexplainable beauties! How on earth they could be that gorgeous?! And look at those bodies, they're very hot! The two girls and three boys all looked at me a bit confused or maybe wondering why I'm here probably because I'm sitting in the middle. Maybe this is why the human bees were buzzing earlier... It looks like they didn't mind, one of the boys just smirked at me because it was Carson and the girls smiled at me, so I smiled back as they sat beside me. The boys sat on our back. "Good morning everyone I'm Mr. Gabriel but you can call me Sir Gab, I'll be your English professor for this semester," Even our professor looks so hot dang it! I like this school already except for the bees though... our professor started to discuss our syllabus when the girl beside me talked.   "Hi! I'm Yuna! You're the first one who has seated here in the center, I like your hair and outfit by the way you look so gorgeous!" the girl with black hair and a slight yellowish eye offered me her hand, so I politely took it.   "I'm Raven just call me Rave, yeah I'm a little weirded out the first time I saw the center chairs were empty and please I'm not that gorgeous just look at you guys," I mumbled and the blondie with yellow eyes on the opposite side of me chuckled, so I glance at her.   "My name's Charisse and it's nice to meet you, Rave, they don't like us that much and I agree with Yuna you look great," Charisse complimented, causing me to be shy because I’m starting to get too overwhelmed with their praises.   "Thanks, you guys look great too so why people won't like you?" I asked a little bit confused.   "Oh, humans like you always tend to believe rumors that are made up by random people and they think we're dangerous animals that could hurt them so lots of them try to avoid us, stupid right?" We glanced at our back, the boy with black hair and yellow eyes said it while looking so pissed. Why almost all of them have the same color of eyes? It's my first time seeing yellow-eyed people. My eyebrows raised because of his statement isn't he a human too? Why would other people think of them like that? They're all hot! If they're studying at my old school before, students there will practically be praising and follow these people around. "Shut up Zach! Don't mind him, Raven, he spouts nonsense a lot of times, I'm Liam short for William," the boy with dark blue highlights of hair and yellowish eyes said while smiling at me, so I just nodded. What Zach said still lingers on my mind though.   "Hello again lady, I never thought we would be in the same class, this must be destiny," Carson said with a wink who is sitting right beside Liam, on the left side it was Zach who is occupying the seat, so I just chuckled with his gestures. "Oh! Was she the one you and Cass met in the park yesterday?" Yuna asked him from behind, so Carson just nodded at her.   "Cass helped me find my room earlier and thanks to her, I wasn't late and she offered me to join your lunch," I told them, so Yuna got excited.   "Really? Yay! I was looking forward to meeting you, join us for lunch okay?" Yuna said cheerfully. She reminds me of Cass a little.   "Yeah I will," I said while smiling. I was about to ask them something about their eyes when our attention was caught by the door that was slammed open by a gorgeous human being. I immediately froze on my seat when both of us made eye contact. Red eyes.   To be continued...
