The missing purse

985 Words
Drawing a long breath in, I stroll over to my bed so I can grab my ringing phone. The caller identity displays an unknown phone number and I clear my throat a bit before answering and putting the phone up to my ear. "Hello." I call into the phone and wait patiently for the caller to answer me. Drey sighs and points in the direction of the door before walking out of my room. "Hi, this is David Williams." The thick, unrecognizable voice calls to me. I draw my eyebrows in confusion and frown, I do not know a 'David Williams'. "David who now?" I ask in an uninterested voice and sit on the edge of my bed. "Anye Smith right?" David questions but I ignore him. "Who's David?" I ask with a frown. I'm really not in the mood for stupid dumbass mind games right now. I'm still heartbroken and only goodness knows when... If I'll ever get over today's incident. "Yeah I'm the guy from today, the one in the hotel?" He identifies and my mind instantly records his voice and it immediately starts to resemble my saviour's voice. I gasp and the image of me attempting to kiss him causes me to cringe. "Oh hi. How did you..." I start to say but he quickly cuts me off. "You left your purse in the rush, I called for you but you didn't answer and I found a little note you left in your purse." He explains. It was Harvey's idea that I left my phone number in my purse in case it ever got stolen or lost. "Why did you go through my purse?!" I find myself tensing up instead of being grateful that he was honourable enough to call me to come have my purse back. "Are you kidding?" He groans over the phone, "I needed to know if you had any vital information in there that could help lead to you." He says and mumbles something I don't think I was supposed to hear, "This is one reason I don't like girls." I sigh in defeat. I guess he is kind of right after all. "I'm sorry. Thank you for calling me." "Well you're not welcome. Just tell me where I can dump this bag full of shit." He says impatiently. "If you're going to drop by the hotel anytime soon, drop it with the receptionist. Her name is Anny. Don't worry, I'll take care of it from there." I tell him. "I'm not worried." He says and I can picture him rolling his eyes. The door swings open a bit and Drey walks in with a broom. He raises his eyebrows in surprise at the fact that I'm still talking over the phone. "Tha.." I start to say but get cut off by the dial tone. Attitude much? I sigh and toss my phone to the bed. I watch as Drey starts to sweep up the mess that I'd created. I stand to my feet and walk over to him. I reach out to grab the broom from him but he stops me. "Don't worry I'll take care of it." He says, gently slapping my hands off. I shake my head and reach out to grab it from him again. This time he dodges me with a brush of his shoulders. "Drey I created this mess let me handle it." I disagree and stick out my bottom lip. "Don't frustrate me, I'm frustrated enough as it is." He ignores me, "Who was that on the phone?" "Some guy. He'd help me with getting out of the bathroom." I tell my twin brother. "Since when do bathrooms trap people in? How did you even get in, in the first place?" He scoffs. I almost laugh at his facial expression. "So why'd he call?" He pushes further. I shrug and walk back to the bed, and lie flat on it, on my stomach. "He has my purse. I left it there in a haste." I tell him and sigh. After you tried to kiss him. Shut up. Drey doesn't budge. "Oh." "Yeah." "So he called to let you have it back, that's generous."  He says with a smile. I don't say anything, I just sigh. I stand to my feet and start to walk to my bathroom. "Where are you going?" Drey asks with a raised eyebrow. "To the bathroom. I need to wash my face, I look like Mrs puff from Spongebob right now." I tell him. He chuckles and playfully adds, "Just don't get trapped in the bathroom." He jokes and I can't help but smile. I walk into the bathroom and lock the door shut behind me. I got to admit, I'm pretty scared to look at my own reflection in the mirror. I'm afraid I won't like what I see, which is true. Without looking in the mirror, I turn the sink water on and start to wash my face. Drying my face with a towel, I can't help but glance at the mirror. I let out a gasp unknowingly. I knew I'd look worse but I didn't think I'd look worst. I'm barely even recognizable anymore. My nose is a deep pink, the same shade as my ears. My eyelids have grown beyond swollen and my eyes are blood-red. Who knew Harvey had this much power over me? This is Terrible. Just terrible. I have to meet with Harvey as soon as possible. I need to know why he broke up with me without any sort of respect or remorse. I need to know why he doesn't consider me as his pepperoni pizza anymore. I need to know why he no longer ships Harvye. I need to know why I'm no longer it for him. I need to know why he decided to ruin my life without even trying. I need to know a lot of things and only he can answer my questions. I open the bathroom door and walk back into my bedroom. Drey is no longer here and before my mental state can catch up, I'm grabbing my phone and I'm calling Harvey.
