Kate’s point of view. “ally?” I shouted on top of my voice as I arrived home, I had been called that Allison was in trouble again at school so I left work to come and see her at home. “Allison” I shouted again as I approached her room. She didn’t respond, even when I knew she heard that I was calling her. I tried to open the door, but she didn’t open it. What the heck was he thinking? “Allison Adams, you had better open this door or I swear if I…” I wanted to say but stopped when I heard the door being unlocked. “What happened?” I asked as I opened the door to her room. She just looked down without responding. “Allison? Talk to me” I said holding her hand as tears filled her eyes, “What’s wrong?” panicking as I gently wiped the tears that fell from her eyes. “Can you hold me?” She said to me as I nodded my head, pulling her in a tight embrace as I gently stroked her hair. “I am sorry, I cause all this trouble for you. I just couldn’t stand there as they said terrible things about us,” She apologized as I held her even tighter. “It’s okay, I am sorry that I never have time to be with you,” I said to her as she cried. “I Am sorry Katy…” She said sobbing loudly, “Hey, I said it’s fine, okay? I am here for you” I whispered to her before pulling her away from me. “how about you and me just have some time to ourselves since I am already here? Should I prepare Duck?” I said to her, knowing too well that I was so terrible at it. “No…” She said, wiping her tears. “Come on… It was will be very delicious. I have been looking for recipes,” I said to her playfully, raising my eyebrows as she laughed, “Of course. I don’t trust your recipes” She said as I laughed, pulling her in a hug. “I am always here for you, okay? If you have any problem, just let me know okay,” I said to her as she nodded her head. “Let’s go now. I need to do some grocery shopping first” I said breaking the hug. She had grown up to be an exquisite young lady. She was no longer the chubby little sister I had tears ago. “Wait, I need to change into something else,” She said walking towards her closet. “Okay change, let me also wear something casual,” I said to her turning around going to my room, I had moved into the master bedroom a few years ago, it was hard to remove things that belonged to my parents but I eventually ended up doing it even though I didn’t want to. I reached my room and sighed heavily as I sat on my bed; I tried to be a suitable guardian for Allison, but I always feel like it’s never good enough. Have you ever reached a point in life where you just wished that you could die because of the endless trials you go through? That’s me sometimes, but I just end up waking up the next day because of the promise I made to my mother on her deathbed. “Katy? Are you ready?” Allison shouted outside my door, I quickly stood up walking to my walk-in closet. “Not yet, trying to find….” I wanted to say when she chipped in. “You haven’t even changed?” She questioned me as I faked a smile. “Don’t worry, I will change into something else quickly” I said rushing through my wardrobe, I had made myself a promise that she will never see me said. I quickly pulled out a white sweater dress and turned around, getting slippers from the shoe racks. I stood there taking off my dress from work and earrings, I quickly pulled the dress over my head and put on my shoes, I had left my heels downstairs but I knew the maid would pick them up for me. “Let’s go,” I said to her as she nodded her head, I was the last one to leave the room letting her lead the way. We got to the car, and I used the Audi I used when going to work because it had my bag. “So, what happened with Carson? Did you talk to him?” She questioned me as I shook my head, Carson was my first boyfriend but I broke up with him a few years ago because he kept on demanding on getting intimate which I wasn’t ready for. “It’s fine… I will chat with him later. Are you going to prom?” I questioned her and she shook her head. “No.” “Why?” I turned to her briefly shifting my attention from the road “Please focus on your driving” She snapped pointing to the road as I kept stealing glances at her/ “Why are you not going?” I questioned her, shook her head looking the other way, I am certain no one had asked her out, but I was hoping for a change she would tell me what’s happening in her life. “Well, for starters no one asked me yet so I can’t go,” She said as I kept quiet focusing on the road “You can’t miss Prom all because of that. Why don’t you go with Denis? I am sure that he would like to go with you?” I mentioned to her as she rolled her eyes, Denis was a close friend of hers and they were always found together so this was okay. “Well, he asked someone else already. It’s just some stupid Prom please don’t make a big deal out of it,” She said to me as I nodded my head. I didn’t want to push it so I just left it there so we don’t have to argue. When we reached the mall, she was the first one to get out of the car; I sighed heavily as I looked at her walking towards the entrance. She was happy one minute the next she didn’t even want to talk to me. So much for being the only sibling I have.
