They rinsed off and he kissed her again, sliding his hands up and down her back. He reached over and turned the hot water off, allowing the cold water to cool them. Bridget grinned at him. "So babe, how was your day? How was Oliver's birthday?" she asked. Shane grinned, "Awesome, fun.. we went dirt biking and an old friend that's been trying to get a hold of me was there. It was cool, good to see him. His girl was pretty cool too, we were talking about my glass blowing and she started talking about sea horses and that's where I got inspired to make one." Wait.. Bridget thought slowly.. he made those sea horses months ago, what the hell did he mean? "But babe," she started slowly, "you made those pieces months ago, how could you have just seen them today?" Shane looked back at her with a slightly off expression. "Oh, they were there again today," he said. "I saw them a few months ago as well at Oliver's." So wait, she thought to herself, what? Why is he telling me this now? Why didn't he tell me then? She was jealous and she acknowledged it. "Babe it makes me a little jealous you were inspired to make something by another woman," she admitted to him. Shane stilled at her careless confession. "Bridget are you serious? I can't get an idea for my art from someone without you getting jealous?" Bridget glanced away. "Babe, I'm sorry! I had an emotion, I thought it was a good idea to acknowledge it so I could quickly move past it!" Shane quickly finished drying off and stormed from the room, closing the door behind him with a thud. Bridget dried off as quickly as she could and followed him from the room. "Babe, I have no problem she inspired your piece, I'd only have a problem if you intended to give it to her." Shane stared directly into her eyes. "I do intend to give it to her.." This set them back, back to the same place they'd been months ago. The argument finally culminated when he said, "Have you been coming over too much Bridget? Are things back the way they used to be already? We were making such progress.. but I think you should go." Shane stared at her from his favorite chair (a computer chair, he was a gamer as well) with a cold expression on his face. "I won't ever tell you about my day again" he said flatly. She felt anguish at his stinging words. "If that's the case Shane, we really can't do this anymore.." "I'm fine with that." He stared coldly into her eyes. She was pretty angry herself, she had tried to explain and he just wouldn't listen. She turned, grabbed her bags and walked out of his house. She got to her car and realized she needed to pee so she went back inside. It was about an hour drive home and she wasn't going to stop at a gas station when she could just walk inside. She walked in and went straight to the bathroom and closed the door with a thud. She warred with herself. He was being an i***t for not seeing where she was coming from, for not even listening much less trying to understand. She finished and walked from the bathroom into the living room and stood directly in front of him. "Do you really want me to go?" she asked softly. He met her eyes coldly. "Honestly, it was a relief when you walked out the door.." he replied cruelly. Bridget turned quickly as tears sprung to her eyes. They had been through this again and again, because every argument they had, he said it needed to end. He didn't want the drama of a relationship. She couldn't act as though they weren't in one. She walked out the door without a backwards glance, shutting the door firmly. She managed to hold back the tears until she reached her car, but immediately collapsed in her seat, hunching forward as she sobbed uncontrollably. Her body shook with tears but she managed to control them quickly. She had plenty of experience after all.. She sighed and started the long drive home. She resisted the urge to call him. She was sick of being hurt by someone she loved so completely. A tear slipped from her eye as she thought of never seeing him again. But it wasn't working in this lifetime. Maybe they'd meet again in the next one..
