Arrogant Little Alpha

Jaylen was roaming the streets of Spain, her path lit with the last rays of the golden setting sun. She takes a deep breath and the air fogged as she lets it back out. Suddenly she hears a growl from behind her and she stops in her tracks turning around, slowly, to see what the source of the sound was. She wanted to scream when she saw a giant pitch-black wolf staring at her, its silver eyes boring into her soul as it bared its teeth at her. Jaylen was about to lift her hands to show that she was innocent when the wolf charged at her, and she instinctively fell to the ground in a little ball, screaming at the top of her lungs as she covered her head with her arms. Jaylen sat upright in her bed, screaming, a cold sweat on her body as she shivered at the same nightmare, she had each night. She didn't know what it meant, nor why the nightmare was always coming back to haunt her. Jaylen was always scared to go back to sleep when she had the nightmare, and so she would get up and walk out onto her balcony and sit outside for the rest of the night until the sun came up, not closing her eyes to fall asleep again. Everyone at work is always concerned about her, but they know not to ask questions since she is the boss. She's the CEO of one of the biggest coffee shop franchises in the U.S. She started her mission by starting her own coffee shop on the corner of her home town, New York. She never thought that she stood a chance with all the big-name brands around her, but having homemade cookies and pies paid off. Business started booming for her and she soon opened new coffee shops all over New York until she grew her business into something bigger, making her logo and products well known. Being a successful businesswoman was great, but it did need a lot of work to be done, so that's why Jaylen hired a CFO to help her with the heavy lifting. She did do a lot of work, but sometimes she needed to take a break from working and trying to get some sleep. She sat on the porch and watched the sun come up, sipping on her strong coffee her mind running wild with thoughts of the wolf again. Ever since she was sixteen, she has been having nightmares of that exact same wolf, yet she didn't know. She did research, watched videos, and even traveled around certain places where there are rumors about wolves, but she didn't find any answers. This wolf's eyes were engraved her brain and she tried to erase it by figuring out why she always saw him. She jumps slightly when her phone vibrated in her lap, spilling some of her hot coffee on her hand. She gets up from her lounger and hisses as she sets down the mug, answering the call. "Jaylen speaking" She walks back inside to her bathroom and rinses her hand under the cold water. "Good morning boss. I tried to postpone them, but there are some people here, very adamant to speak to you face to face. Should I tell them you are busy?" Jaylen thought about it and shook her head once while replying. "Yes, please" She hung up and returned to her coffee outside, taking a small sip when her phone rang again. "They really want to speak to you. They're not giving up" Jaylen sighs and leaves to go to the office. She wondered who these people were, and what they wanted. She looks in the mirror as she hides the black lines under her eyes with some concealer. "Let's go kick some ass"
