Chapter 1

1200 Words
Willow was cold and wet in her cage. She has one thin holey blanket and pillow that's to flat. Willow couldn't remember what a comfortable warm bed felt like, It had been to long. Willow could remember the day she was taken from her parents. It was a warm June morning and she was playing outside when a man approached her and begged her to help him find his dog Betty who had run off into the woods. Willow was always willing to help someone and went into the woods with him where she has been ever since. She didn't know if anyone was still looking for her or if her parents were even alive.  "Please let me go" Willow begged "I promise I won't tell anyone where I have been."  "No." Kirk said with no emotions It has been 12 years since kirk had taken Willow from her families home and she remembered every detail. Kirk was getting very sick and Willow was afraid one day he would pass away and she would be trapped in the cage. "Okay, may I come out and cook you some soup to help you feel better?" She sweetly asked  it made her sick to her stomach every time she had to act sweet and kind to him. "Yes"  Kirk replied ever since he got sick he has been cold towards her, not saying he was ever warm but he at least had some kind of conversation with her. Kirk was a mean man Willow tried her best to never upset him. Anything to avoid being hit or worse. Kirk unlocked her cage door and went to sit on the sofa where he spent most of his time now, and Willow started preparing his dinner, and her escape. Willow had 12 years to memorize every exit and potential exit in Kirks cabin. But she had never seen the outside of his cabin, when Kirk brought her here she was blindfolded. All she remembers of the trip was being in a trunk and the rough road and than a lot of walking.  Willows plan was to make his soup, ask to use the restroom which was located right by the front door and hope he would not follow her and that he hadn't put the pad locks on yet. If he didn't follow her she would be able to slip out. Once she made it out she would run as hard and as fast as she could. She would run until she found a place to sleep and hide for the night and than she would start running again.  'I will escape this horrid place tonight, or I will die trying.' she thought to herself "Where is my soup girl!" Kirk yelled from the sofa snapping Willow out of her thoughts "I am coming with it right now." She relied. Willow grabbed the tray and tried to steady her hands. He terrifies her. "Here's your soup, it's very hot please be careful."   "I know how to eat soup girl!" Kirk yelled  as he stood up. Kirk stocked over to her, he grabbed her hair took the tray from her set it down and than turned to punch her in the stomach. Willow fell to the ground and curled into a ball trying to control her breathing, Kirk than pulled her back to her feet and smacked her across the face before walking back to his sofa with his soup.  "Yes of course, I am sorry sir." She timidly said "May I use the restroom please?"  "Yes go and clean your face up." He said as he slurped his soup.  Willow made her way to the bathroom, she checked the front door for locks, the only lock he has on right now is the dead bolt, she slowly turned it into the unlock position, she opened both doors at the same time, Willow slipped out of the front door while softly shutting it hoping he would think she just shut the bathroom door. Once she was outside she took off running. Thankfully it was still warm because all she was given to wear was a worn out thin t-shirt.  Willow could feel the soft moss and frost crunching under her feet as she ran through the woods. Than Willow was falling and rolling down a hill, at the bottom she tried to get up and she fell again her ankle was throbbing. She started to get up and walk slowly towards the sound of rushing water that's when she heard the foot steps and froze. She looked up to see a rather large black wolf standing in front of her, staring at her with the brightest green eyes.  "Willow you better get back here now!"  Kirks voice boomed "You are going to regret running girl, I will make you bleed!"  Willow heard a growl and looked to see the wolf in a protective stance facing towards Kirks voice. Willow got up and started running again, she looked behind her to see the wolf running with her. She was relived to see he would not be harmed by Kirk, she knew he would shoot him. Willow saw a clearing and than everything went black.           Willow woke up on something very warm and very soft. She sat up slowly, her ankle still protesting in pain she swung her legs out of the covers and timidly stood up. She was starting to panic, she was in a cave with a rather large stone blocking the entrance. Had Kirk found her? Was she in her new cage where she'd die? The stone started moving and Willow snapped out of it, hiding in a dark corner close to the entrance so she could make a run for it. As soon as the entrance was opened she waited for the man to walk closer to the bed. She started to move out of the darkness without making any noise she bolted. Running as fast as she could on her wounded ankle. She was so close to the river when something brought her to the ground. Laying on her back in the soft moss she was looking at familiar green eyes and a strangers handsome face.  "Why did you run?" The man growled Willow froze, she was to scared to reply. "I asked you a question, I expect an answer!" He boomed "Your going to hurt yourself again or he will find you out here" He explained softly this time as he stood up and held his hand out to Willow.  Willow hesitantly took his had and stood. He led her back to the cave.     "Who.. Who are you sir?"  Willow asked quietly "Benjamin Braddock. You can just call me Ben"  he said "What is your name?" "Willow, Willow Williams" She replied  "It's nice to meet you Willow. We need to hurry back to my home, it will be dark soon and that man is still out here looking for you." Ben said "It is not safe for you."  With that they quickly made their way back to the cave. You wouldn't be able to find it if you weren't looking for it. The cave was cleverly hidden with vines and moss.
