It is night, though which night I cannot say. I am lying on my side, naked in bed, facing a man, also naked, who is reading by the light of an electric lamp. There is a smile on my face and another in my heart because at this very moment I know who he is. And I’ve missed him more than I can say.
“Teddy.”
His eyes go from the book to mine.
“Teddy. It’s me.”
He rests the book on his lap and kisses me. As he goes to sit up, I reach around his shoulder and pull him back. There is passion in my embrace and in my kisses. I want Teddy more than anything in the world. I want to feel him inside me, taste his kisses, and know that I am being made love to.
