Chapter 1 Encounter

550 Words
London, a city blending the ancient with the modern, has always had a unique ability to evoke a spectrum of emotions. One early morning, the flow of people in the city garden park moved slowly, as individuals of all kinds began their daily routines. On this seemingly ordinary day, Dr. Julian Hale also strolled through the park, seeking inspiration and tranquility in nature's embrace. Julian, a psychiatrist, exuded a gentle aura, yet he harbored complex and enigmatic thoughts. He navigated through the crowd with a keen and probing gaze, as if in search of something or someone to ignite his interest. His attention was soon captivated by a barbecue area where a middle-aged couple, with kind-hearted expressions, tended to their grill. Nearby, their daughter, Eva Winters, painted quietly on the lawn. The sun peeked through the foliage, casting a golden light on Eva like liquid crystal. Her hair fluttered gently in the breeze, creating a scene of harmonious beauty. Eva, a beautiful and uniquely talented young artist, was deeply engrossed in her world. Her brush danced freely on the canvas, her eyes reflecting a profound pursuit of beauty and love for art. After a brief pause, Julian decided to leave the park and make his way to his private hospital. Seated in his office, he pondered deeply before dialing an unfamiliar number. "I need your assistance. In return, I am willing to offer mine. I will provide you with detailed instructions shortly," he stated with unwavering confidence. Upon concluding the call, a satisfied smile played across his face. Julian then emerged from his office and located his assistant, Peter. "Could you please arrange for the patient who had an appointment earlier to come in?" he requested. Peter acknowledged and set about making the necessary arrangements. Julian sat in his office, focused on the patient before him, a middle-aged man named Mike. Mike appeared fatigued, his eyes lacking their usual luster. "Sir, how long have you been feeling like this? Are you experiencing insomnia and difficulty breathing?" Julian inquired. After a moment of silence, Mike responded, "I've been dealing with this for over a year. It wasn't severe at first, but lately, I've been physically and mentally drained due to work and relationship issues." Julian nodded understandingly. "Sir, it's important to rediscover your motivation, life goals, and ideals. You're experiencing some mild depression, and I'll prescribe medication to help prevent it from worsening. Most importantly, allow yourself to explore life's vast possibilities without imposing limits on yourself." Grateful, Mike nodded. "Thank you, doctor. Work worries me constantly, and the stress is suffocating." Julian smiled reassuringly. "You're welcome. Life is meant to be savored, not endured. You will overcome this." His words brought comfort and relaxation to Mike. After the treatment, Mike left the hospital, and Julian concluded his day's work. He headed to a nearby coffee shop, ordered a cup of coffee, and sat quietly, enjoying the soothing music. As he gazed out the window, he noticed Mike engaged in conversation with a young woman. To his surprise, she was the painter Eva he had seen in the park. Julian watched them, his heart stirred by a mix of emotions. Though unaware of Mike and Eva's relationship, he found himself intrigued by the coincidence—or perhaps, the hand of fate.
