Ch 1 Training

Jillian's P.O.V As we pulled apart, he bent down and kissed me softly on the lips and it was such a sweet feeling, I didn't want it to end. As I backed up, I looked up at him and wondered. If this becomes more serious between us , would we be able to make it work? " Jillian, I'll text you when I get up and come back over here so I can take you on a date if thats ok?" Thomas said looking into my eyes. " Of course, that sounds wonderful. " I said. He then proceeded to get in his truck and leave as I walked into Bre's house, my best friend. The events of tonight just kept running through my head. I didn't know if I was ever going to get any sleep as I laid down on the spare bed in Bre's room. She was already knocked out snoring and I couldn't get any rest with everything that happened. Was my mom going to be ok? Or would I have to rescue her from Dan? Would this relationship between Thomas and I become more permanent, or was it just a fling? As I tossed and turned, I slowly fell into a deep sleep after putting in my ear buds listening to some ocean music. I awoke the next morning to my phone going off, my notifications ringtone. Thomas: Good Morning Beautiful! Jillian: Good Morning Handsome Thomas: Be ready in 20 minutes and wear some comfortable clothing. Jillian: Are you going to tell me what we are doing? Thomas: No babe, It's a surprise ? Jillian:Ok, your no fun ? Thomas: See you soon Gorgeous ? I hurried up and got ready because I still needed to pack for my trip. I got my bag packed first since I didn't have much to take. I grabbed some shorts, tank top and a light jacket and rushed into the bathroom to change. I lightly straightened my light brown hair and pulled it back into a high ponytail. I quickly applied some makeup and mascara and I was ready. I got all my things together, since it was already close to 10am and my flight left at 6pm. I was playing on my phone on the couch in the living room, when I heard Thomas's truck outside. I got up quickly and rushed to the door. As I opened it, there stood Thomas with his blonde hair slicked back with Aviators on, looking like a total surfer. " You ready to go Sweetness?" He said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me close. I could smell his aftershave and his light cologne as he bent down and kissed my lips softly. " Of course, I can't wait for my surprise. " I said as he helped me get into his truck. " It will definitely be worth it, especially when we get there. " He said as we got onto the freeway. It took us about 20 minutes to get to our destination. We had to drive up a huge hill in a secluded neighborhood by the ocean. When we got to the top, there was a beautiful little cottage overlooking the San Diego Bay. As we stepped out of the truck, I was just in awe of the view. The water was glistening in the sunlight and you could see all the boats just running across the water. The sea breeze was cool and the sun was high up enough, that it was the perfect temperature. Suddenly, I felt two arms snake around me and felt Thomas wrap me up in his arms. He gave me a kiss on the forehead and said, " Isn't this a great view?" " Yes it is," I replied. He turned me around and looked at me with a sadness in his eyes. "Jillian, I don't know how all this is going to work with you leaving but I want you to know that I want this to work between us. I'm willing to wait, if you want to continue this." I looked at him thoughtfully and wondered if it would be able to work. I wanted it to, but there were so many things that were uncertain about where this job would take me. I blew out the breath I was holding and replied, " I do too, but I don't know where my job is going to take me so you will have to be patient with me. I've never been in a relationship either so I don't really know how all of this works." He watched me as I said those words and bent down and kissed me passionately. He bit my bottom lip and I gave him access to my mouth. His tongue pushed into my mouth and fought for dominance. His hold grew tighter around my waist as if he was telling me he didn't want to let me go. We broke away from our kiss after a few minutes and he took my hand and walked us inside the cottage. "This was my mother's place that she would come to when she wanted to paint and be alone." he said sadly. The walls were nicely decorated with handpainted ocean scenes. We ate lunch and just spent some time together talking about memories in highschool. It was such a lovely time and it passed by so quickly. It was about 3pm and time for me to get my stuff and head to the airport. We went back by Bre's house and I quickly said goodbye to her and that I would call her everyday after training. She shed a few tears saying she would miss me and to not have too much fun without her. Thomas grabbed my luggage and put it in the truck. He offered to take me to the airport. The ride there was an awkward one, he held my left hand while driving and seemed like he didn't want to let me go. We arrived at the airport and as he dropped me off he said, "Jillian, I want you to know that I really care for you and that if you ever need anything at all, I'm just a phone call away." " Thank you Thomas, that means more to me than you'll ever know. I really appreciate everything you've done for me the past 2 days and I will never forget it," I said. He leant over and kissed me gently and whispered, " I want this to work, but if it doesn't know that I will always have a special place in my heart for you. Your the only one, I've always dreamt about." Then he looked me in my eyes waiting for my response, his breath so close after our kiss. I wasn't expecting such a confession but knew in my heart that if this was meant to be then it would be. " I don't know what to say but I do know if it's meant to be with us, we will work it out." I replied and he gave me another soft kiss in response. We then separated and got my stuff out of the truck. We embraced and then he kissed me again passionately before I had to walk away." I'll miss you Jillian, " he said as he put his forehead against mine. "I'll miss you too" I replied and then I turned around to walk towards the terminal. I didn't want to turn around because I knew if I did, he would see the tears in my eyes. The last 2 days with Thomas had shown me that someone really cared about me and it was the hardest thing I've had to do about having to let him go. I had hope for us but how long would a long distance relationship last? These thoughts ran through my mind as I sat down in my seat on the airplane, waiting for take-off. I watched the flight attendant do her safety pre-check and go through the introduction of putting the seatbelt on. As I watched her, I couldn't believe that one day that would be me, and that I was well on my way to my flight attendant training. This is my first story and I'm excited to see where it goes.
