Love, Daisy."     Elliot Morrison suddenly remembered those five short words written on that yellow sticky note that she had left for him three months ago. He still has it. Every now and then, he would sit by his office table alone, pulling the secret drawer below him where he kept it, and he would silently read those words again. Even with his eyes closed, he can still picture the letters in his mind, tracing the swirly cursive handwriting and its wide loops and strokes that reminded him so much of her personality. Volatile. Spontaneous. Unconventional.      There's no mistaking that she wrote it herself. When they were still married, it had been a habit of hers to constantly leave notes for him. It was one of the many special things he liked about her too. How she would often put sticky notes on top of his dresser, or on the mirror in their private bathroom, and even on his office table. She was everywhere, leaving traces of her existence, writing greetings and silly remarks to entertain him. And those little notes, for quite a long while, had actually become a temporary fixture in his life. They were mostly just simple stuff that would usually remind him of scheduled birthdays, missed phone calls, and family gatherings. But who would have thought that those tiny bits of their history together would become something he would desperately hold onto now that she had left him for good?     When he first saw that yellow note lying on top of their bedside table three months ago, he was confused. He thought they were finally starting to reconcile. She was clearly softening up for him, he was sure of it. She was finally letting him in. But that note that had been partially detached from where she had stuck it became the final nail to the coffin. She was actually never going to come back to him. She chose to flee. And when he realized that she had gone missing, something immensely heavy had dropped from his chest. It scared the hell out of him.     Where would she go? Why didn't she say anything? Will she ever come back?     His concern and fear after losing her completely and knowing that he might not see her anymore overwhelmed him at once. He should have known right after reading that note, that when she wrote "be happy" to him she was actually saying goodbye for good.      How long has it been since the last time he did see her face?      She never left a trace nor even a mere warning to her family alone. Despite his best efforts to gather information from her parents about her whereabouts, they seemed to be just as clueless as he was. She never told anybody where she was going. Not a friend, nor even a relative... Everybody was too dumbstruck by her sudden disappearance that they all frantically tried to look for her yet no one seemed to find a trace.     He felt like it was all his fault that she left. When she asked him to sign that stupid divorce, he refused at first because he was already in love with her. But when he told her what he felt about her, she just laughed at him. You just think you love me that way, Lio. But it's not the kind of love worth fighting for.      Those words that came out of her lips really hurt him. She had been so brutal in pushing him away, forcing that separation between them because she insisted that "it was for the best". He never believed that though. Even with the process of their divorce pushing forward, Elliot still tried to make her realize how much he really wanted to be with her. But just when he thought he was finally making progress, she had suddenly bolted and disappeared. She even wished him to be happy...     But that never made any sense. Because why wasn't he happy now?     "We're here, Mr. Morrison."     The neutral voice of his driver as the car slowed down to a stop, quickly pulled Elliot away from his train of thoughts. Elliot looked up from where he sat on the backseat of his limousine and instinctively stared through the tinted car window overlooking the street. What came to view was the empty sidewalk in front of a drab-looking bookstore. He got a good look at the store sign and confirmed that he was at the right place.     She will be here. That was his gut feeling after receiving the information from a source that she might be here. Knowing that this could somehow end up good, he opened the car door in a rush, crossing the pavement to get to the entrance as fast as he could. He could feel his heart thumping out of his chest. His palms started to sweat as he pushed the sliding doors open. The cold air immediately swooped him in and he paused, his face stretching into wide shock, just when a familiar figure spotted him from the inside.     It's her.     He heard her soft gasp even from the distance as she mirrored the same surprise look on his face. She just stood there, gawking back, completely unguarded. It was definitely her, he could immediately tell despite the drastic change in her appearance. Those hazel eyes, the rosy plump cheeks, and her soft full lips. It was Daisy. Elliot staggered a little over his footing, trying to recover from the situation. She had cut her hair and bleached it because she did not want to be found. She was now wearing black-rimmed glasses to conceal her face, yet everything else was too familiar for Elliot not to easily recognize that it was her at one look. She really changed herself but Elliot could feel that it wasn't just her appearance that had changed in time. Though he was not yet sure what exactly changed other than that, he could just sense the feeling as they stared at each other.     It was pretty obvious that she had never expected him to find her. She must have thought that she had covered her tracks pretty well. And she did. In fact, it had been so difficult for Elliot to quickly track her down in the past three months. He even almost gave up after several times of reaching dead-ends. But now that she was here, he knew it was all worth it.     The sleepless nights were worth it. Elliot found himself taking one step at a time to get closer to her. He wanted to touch her so bad that he can't resist not letting his feelings get the better of him. He held his breath as he closed the distance, afraid that this might suddenly just turn out to be a foolish dream. But as soon as she was within his reach, he did not hesitate anymore to pull her into his arms. She tensed up, but he ignored her cold demeanor. Closing his eyes as her familiar warmth surround him, he dropped a kiss over her hair, then he cupped her face with his hand, inhaling her scent as he felt his body relaxed after seeing that she was safe and sound.     He really found her.      "Daisy..." the way her name fell off of his lips, hoarse and pleading, weakened her knees immediately as Daisy forced herself to stop the unwanted emotions from taking over. She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping that this was not real. He had been showing up in her dreams too many times like this that she must have been imagining this all right now. This must be a joke. On nights that she had felt absolutely lonely, she would find herself dreaming about him, just like this, where he would come sweeping her off of her feet, hugging her so tight. Then he would move and kiss her passionately, ask her to run away with him, and they will make love all over again.      "Daisy..." that sound of his voice was also just the same thing that she had in her dream... Will he kiss her? She only had the memory of his touch and warmth but since he felt all real in front of her now, drowning her with his scent and his voice, it made her forget everything else. This is not a dream, Daisy. Wake up. Wake up.     She did. Daisy's eyes opened up as she went back to closing off every emotion in her heart. She attempted to move away but his face started to lean closer towards her. He was aiming for her lips... just like in her dream, making that fantasy scene almost coming true.      You said you would forget about him.      "No," Daisy bit out and forcefully turned away, avoiding the contact with his mouth, more of an indication that she really wanted him to stop. Push him away. Don't be swayed by that feeling again. She tried to wriggle herself away from his hold but Elliot just locked his arms around her, tightening it more. He seemed determined. And he actually was.      "Let me go," she glared at him. He just shook his head, keeping her trapped. Daisy looked torn but he was not going to pass this chance anymore. He had gone through hell to get to this point, he was never going to let her run away again.     He still loves his wife. And now that he found her, he will try to make her fall in love with him once more. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
