Carol

"Carol, get off that window right now! I swear onto everything that's holy I will tan your ass." That's daddy for you and then they blame me for being sassy. I roll my eyes. I get down. I don't want a trouncing, thank you very much. I go and hug daddy trying not to sulk. "He said he will come with ice creams. Do you think he forgot? Maybe we should remind him?" I talk to his chest. "I am sure he remembers baby. He must be stuck at work. Climbing on windows will not make him come faster." He rubs my tushy the way I like. Uncle Grey is getting us ice creams and pizza to celebrate my three months here with them and a month of not trying to run away. I like being with them. I don't even know Why was I trying to run away at least these past few weeks. Actually, I know exactly why. I just wanted to prove that I can get away if I want and I am only here by choice. Daddy might have gotten me here by force but he can't make me stay if I don't want to. I can't help being stubborn and stupid sometimes. I have grown up in the streets and become like this. I can't help being this way even if I don't want to. I was living alone, fending for myself and dealing with the world and then suddenly out of nowhere he comes, whisks me away (well it wasn't that easy, I put up a badass fight) and makes me into a baby. It was so difficult to let someone take care of me and love me. And here I had two. I am lost into my thoughts in daddy's arms when the bell rings. I jump up and run to the door! "Carol! Don't run!" I hear daddy call after me but I can't help myself. I open the door and jump on Uncle Christian. He catches me. "You came!! I thought you forgot!" I squeal. "Pfftt. It's ice creams, Carol. How can I ever forget?" He rolls his eyes. Daddy takes the pizza boxes and ice creams from his hands and we go back inside. He ignores us when we are like this. Well, he pretends to at least. He puts me on my high chair and daddy feeds me pizzas and ice creams. "I am sorry I was late. Got stuck at work." "That's fine. Miss Carol here was getting really impatient, jumping on the windows every ten seconds." "No! I wasn't!" "Carol, what did I tell you about lying?" "Daddy! I was on the window every five seconds!" I poke my tongue at him and uncle laughs. Daddy stares at him. He coughs and tries to not laugh and fails miserably. After a very happy and tummy and heart filling dinner I want to play. "No Carol, we will have a quick bath and then you're going straight to bed." "Pweasee daddy? Uncle Christian is hereeeee... I want to pwayyy... " "He is here to play with me, baby." "Huh?" "Nothing, it's almost your bedtime. If you be a good girl for me tomorrow we can watch TV. You wanted to watch Hotel Transylvania 3, right?" He tries to bribe me. Uncle Grey is sitting at the table chugging beer quite indifferent to our conversation. "What if I am not a good girl?" I ask daddy and he looks at me in disbelief. "Well, that cannot be because I know this sweet little Carol is always a good girl, like always!" That's Uncle Grey. See why I like him so much? "Yes. True that." Daddy rolls his eyes but kisses me. "Come on, let's have a bath and then Uncle Grey can tuck you in, would you like that? Hmm?" Yay!! Grey's Pov Carol is zesty. Jay is still not used to it. His face is a picture when he talks to Carol sometimes. Like he doesn't know what to say or do next. He is really sweet. He expected a little of the same disposition as him. Sweet, calm and docile. Carol is Smart, lively and out-going and loud. Guess life isn't predictable. I still have a couple of months to go before I have to get myself a little. I hope she is just like Carol. "Uncle Grey come up and tuck in the princess, please." I hear Jay call for me. I run upstairs and tuck Carol in for the night. She is exhausted and falls asleep in minutes. We switch on the baby monitor and walk downstairs. I loosen my tie and chug the last of my beer. "She is my life. I love her and would not know what to do without her but I am so glad that she's finally slept. The girl doesn't get tired. She skipped her nap time today also and she was running about her room talking to herself playing some game, god knows what." Jay says. "You look beat. Go to bed. I'll be off now. Have an early day tomorrow." I stand up and grab my bag. "Or you could stay the night," Jay smirks. "You're tired. You won't... " "Oh, you'd be surprised... " He tells me before I can finish my sentence. I grin and follow him to his bedroom.
