Chapter One

911 Words
Once Upon A Time, there was a young and beautiful princess named Camila. Camila was the daughter of Queen Sinhue and King Alejandro, the greatest rulers the Enchanted Forest had ever known. The Royal couple also had another, but younger daughter named Sofia. Camila and Sofia were the best of sisters. Camila always took care of her no matter what. Despite the age difference between them, they were like best friends. Alejandro and Sinhue wouldn't allow the girls to have many friends. They often feared the worst and wanted to protect their daughters. Sometimes Sofia would get frustrated with her strict parents, but Camila understood why they were this way, and she tried to help her little sister understand as well. Camila didn't mind being alone most days. She often enjoyed reading books and daydreaming. You might be wondering what she would daydream about. No one really knew this, but Camila was a hopeless romantic at heart. She loved romance novels and stories of two people falling in love. She wanted that more than anything, but what did she know about love, she was only fifteen. Since she was little her mother had been teaching her the ways of magic. But not just any magic, light magic. One day Camila would be queen, and she would be trusted to protect the people of the forest. So since the age of 10, she was being trained by her fairy godmother Ally. Ally had been trusted as the head fairy 400 years ago, it was her experience that led Camila's parents to ask her to perform this duty. She of course was honored. For Camila, magic was a joy. She loved the things she could perform. But what she loved the most was her ability to help others from a distance. It wasn't often that she left the palace so she would sit in front of her window looking down at the beautiful people. From there she did little things that often went unnoticed, like stopping fruits from falling off the fruit carts or even helping a cat down a tree. She didn't mind that nobody knew, it made her happy to be able to help at all. For Camila's sixteenth birthday she asked her parents for something that took her parents by surprise. She wanted to visit the Twiddler. The Twiddler had been locked in the dungeon of the palace for years. He was a powerful being who specialized in very dark magic. He had an all-seeing eye, which only made him scarier. But Camila wasn't afraid, she knew his love for deals, and he had something that she wanted. Her parents were reluctant, but, Camila had proven herself many times to be responsible and trusted her. They allowed her a brief visit with Twiddler as long as she was accompanied by many guards. Camila didn't want to resort to dark magic, but she did want to find her soul mate, and this was the only way she knew how. It was true that Twiddler did love a good deal, and he gave Camila exactly what she was looking for... for a price. Camila regretted her decision as soon as she made the deal, but there was no going back. She had promised to give her first child to Twiddler. In exchange, Twiddler gave Camila a mirror. Not just any mirror, this mirror showed everything that her soul mate saw. For once she could see the world through their eyes, and she was nowhere near prepared for that. Y/n was a very underprivileged girl. Her family never had much, except each other. Her family ran a small farm, and it required a lot of work. Y/n was put to work at the young age of 8. Working at such a young age made her have a certain perspective on life, that not many had. It wasn't a good one either. She didn't believe in love or even happiness in general. She believed in work because that is all she had ever known. Y/n has a little brother named Romeo. He is only eleven years old but still strong and wise beyond his years. He sees life very differently than his older sister, he sees the beauty in every situation. Because of that, Y/n was sometimes cold and distant from him. Two different personalities with strong views of the world. But even still, Y/n still loved her brother and would protect him at all costs. They did have one thing in common, For y/n's thirteenth birthday, her parents gave her, her very first horse. She named him Julian. Julian was the only thing that made her happy nowadays. She took pride in keeping him in great health and condition. Every Friday night, Y/n and Romeo would go riding around town. This was the only time they spent quality time together besides dinner and work. They valued it a lot. Y/n didn't believe in magic, but her parents did, very much too. So for her 16th birthday, they brought her a gift. A Mirror. Not just any mirror though, this mirror was life through her soul mates eyes. Her parents were given this gift one night by a man they had never met before. All he said was that they should give it to their daughter and she would see through her lover's eyes. Y/n was highly skeptical and still is. The only reason she kept it was because she had nothing to lose...
