ALEXANDRIA ‘XANDRIA’ WINSTON
Eleven Years Ago,
“Well, it's not like I didn't apologize”.
My dad looked at me with a light scowl on his face and I knew he was trying so hard not to laugh. But once the principal cleared his throat and the Vega's gave me a once over glare, my dad fully seemed angry then.
“I am terribly sorry for her behavior and I assure you and the Vega's, it will never happen again”. My dad said to my principal, giving them his business man smile.
“She not only assaulted Andrea, but also hurled insults on us too Raymond”. Mrs Vega, said sneering at me. “And I can't believe Principal Morgan, is only going to let her off with a warning”.
Then I saw the heavy changes in my dad's face, “I believe my daughter has already apologized and the principal has already given her a fair warning and punishment . He stood up then, straightening his suit, “What more are you suggesting Cara?”.
The principal and the Vega's looked stunned at my father's curt tone, and they nodded.
“Well you have a nice day. Alexandria, can I speak to you outside”.

Dad, she was asking for it”. I said to my father once we were in the school parking lot.
He kept staring, directly into my eyes. And me being me, lowered my gaze to the ground, ready for the reprimanding that was sure to come.
Laughter.... Deep male laughter. I raised my face to see my dad struggling for air. Crouched over, shoulder racking laughter.
“I'm really surprised it took your senior year for you to finally punch Andrea”. He said after calming down.
I nodded and took the hug he offered. “Don't ever let nobody, I mean nobody pull you down”.
