PROLOGUE | d a n d e l i o n • • ❛ that which we call a rose / by any other name would smell as sweet ❜ HE quietly watched as small fingers fidgeted with daisies, its torn pieces resting in her lap. She hummed a foreign lullaby through the calming breeze, curious eyes wandering the orange-tinted sky ahead. As she stood, pearl-white petals slid from her dress, flowing like teardrops, and into the grass fell a flower, whole again. His eyes gleamed under the pale sunset, an unusual kind of transparency crossing his carved features. Through the grey hues of his iris, one could meet centuries of loneliness, such heart-wrenching betrayals and unbearable, raw, pain. His gaze landed upon her frail neck, the delicate necklace it held, and the way it matched the peculiar amber tone of her doe eyes. He knew then, as her long hair swayed with the sheer force of her radiating power; it was truly her. Mou leipeis. ..
