Chapter 1 Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. "Ugh!" You know that blissful feeling when you're sleeping peacefully? When you think nothing will wake you up, and you just want to stay cuddled in your soft sheets forever? Well, that's how I felt about two minutes ago, before my alarm clock had to ruin everything. I hate alarm clocks. Oh, wait, let me rephrase that... I hate mornings. After almost breaking my alarm clock and having my moment of moping around, I finally get up. It's 7:15 am. I get dressed after taking a slow and relaxing shower, before leaving my room to eat breakfast. When I enter the kitchen my brother is there, shoving his face in a bowl of cereal. The surprising part here is that he is as much a morning person as I am- which I'm obviously not- and it's so damn early in the morning, so you get it. "Hey, lil' sis." "Hi, what are you doing up so early?" I ask. "Ah, you know, just making sure that you don't skip the trip." Oh, yes, the trip from hell. "It's not like I wouldn't like that." I whisper, more to myself than to him, but when I look at my smirking big brother, I know he heard. "Oh, c'mon shortcake, it's going to be awesome." Now I think, it's time to explain a few things. Let's start with the basics. My name is Kate, which is short for Katherine. That annoying prick is my older brother James, he has this thing where he thinks that he can boss me around. Sometimes I understand that he's just looking out for me. After all, our parents haven't cared much about us ever since their divorce. And, okay, I might be a little, tiny bit of a rebel, but I don't have 'trouble' written on my forehead. He doesn't need to be so dramatic. But, moving on. The trip. I'm a college freshman and History is one of my required classes. My professor is Mr. Smith who can occasionally get lost rambling on about it. But it's not as bad as English with Mr. Anderson. I actually like History, and the way our teacher is so patient and understanding with us. He should give a few lessons to Mr. Anderson about that. Mr. Smith is also quite a character. A few months ago, he decided that we should take a trip that would make us understand the subject better. That trip is to Ireland. I was pretty excited, it's not every day that you leave the country. For me, it's also the first time that I go to Ireland. My hate for this trip came later, when our teacher decided that we would not be the only ones going, but his other students would be joining us as well. He has two other classes, one of them with the most annoying monsters- yeah, monsters- on campus: the football team. They are the most arrogant, selfish, and egocentric creatures. Oh yeah, and perverts. And let's not forget that I think they've f****d almost half the girls in this college. Now, do you understand my hate?
