1192 Words
Hey readers! This book is purely fictional. Happy reading. *edited* "And now he wants his money back?" I asked, contemplating the situation my brother was in. He nodded, gulping down the whiskey in the glass. "This is all her doing, I tell you" he growled, having another filling . "Dylan, enough with the drinking already" I sighed as I tried to take glass from him. He swatted my hand away and pouted slightly. I bit my inner cheeks to stop myself from smiling at how adorable he looked. "Don't wait for me, I'll be late" I said as I pulled my coat on. " Where are you going?" he frowned, eyeing me. "To meet a long lost friend" I smiled and stepped into my heels. I hugged him goodbye and walked down the path of stones. I clutched my long coat, tight against my body as I walked into the moonlit road. The streetlights were shimmering and the sounds made by insects boomed through the silent night. Let's settle it with the man once and for all. If he thinks he can mess with me and my family he is definitely wrong. I think I'm going to show him who he's trying to play with! I blinked again, wetting my lips as I finally mustered up some courage. I had to this for my brother. I held the ring that was attached to the big royal wooden door in my hand and knocked. A minute passed by and there no was response. Just as I decided to walk back I heard a manly voice. "Good evening, I wanted to see Mr. Miller" I put forth a mind blowing smile, to which the guard's lips curved downwards, his face marred with a frown. "Ha! 'Tis not evening" he scoffed making me sigh softly. "I would like to see Mr. Miller" I repeated, keeping the annoyance in my voice well hidden. "Busy" was the word he said and I wanted to smack his head off. "I don't care! I said I need to meet him and it is a matter of urgency" I said, my voice powerful and stern. He scowled for a full minute before walking away and into what seemed like a forest inside the huge mansion I must say. He appeared out of the trees and to my relief, he pushed open the huge oak doors, letting me inside. He dislikes the very sight of me, I knew. He didn't have to make it that obvious, he could lose the scowl on his face already. I looked at him, frowning slightly. How am I supposed to find my way to the main door through this mini forest? Couldn't he be a gentleman and assist me? Well apparently, he couldn't. Or perhaps I should say, wouldn't! I walked ahead, my head held high. I will not likely lose my way, I kept repeating as I looked around. Lo and behold! There the door is. I was never this happy to see any door I admit. "Welcome" a friendly woman appeared at the door and led me in. "Mr. Miller sir" she knocked on a door and smiled at me as she opened it. "Mr. Miller is in his study" she nodded to me as I thanked her and left. I took a deep breath and entered. "Shut the door" his cold voice echoed, instantly making me gulp. "I don't think that'll be necessary.." "I said shut the damn door" his voice didn't hide the growing anger in it and I did as I was told. Though I made sure I stayed near the door to be able to run out if the situation demanded. "Good evening" I pathetically started. Ha! Not happening Mr. You-better-obey-me-else-I'll-you've-had-it! "I don't understand why you think the world starts and ends with you" I smirked in satisfaction as my voice came out strong. He looked at me for the first time in years. His eyes held a distant memory I would rather not think about. Cold as they had become, suited his manners. I did not fail to notice his perfectly shaped nose that was now red. Was he.. crying? Sneeze! Ah that explains! My eyes fell to the bouquet of orchids that rested at the corner of his table. I clicked my tongue as I made my way to it. "No wonder you're sneezing Adrian! Let's take the orchids away from you and you'll surely feel.." I sucked in a breath, stopping immediately as I realised what I was doing. I should have forgotten about him! I shouldn't have remembered that he is allergic to orchids. In fact I shouldn't remember him at all! I cleared my throat and looked away. "Looks like you still care for me" he smirked. I scoffed, looking into his eyes. "You wish!" I walked close to him and watches as his eyes widened ever so slightly. I touched my lips to his jaw earning a soft groan from him. I could see him battling with himself and to watch him lose was most satisfactory. His hands rested on my waist and I smiled victoriously, he isn't immune to me after all. Before he could react I moved the orchid on his cheek making him shut his eyes. I moved back just in time and he sneezed. What a sight! I rejoiced as I saw him sneeze again and again. Let's say I lost count as to how may times he sneezed. "You will regret this" he managed to finish between his sneezes. "Why are you hell bent on ruining Dylan?" I couldn't help but let out. "Like you have-" sneeze "- to ask" he tried scoffing and let's say that ended up between a scoff and a sneeze. A snoff? I chuckled inwardly. "What ever it is between Tori and him, must stay that way. You nor I have the rights to interfere" I reasoned. Like he would listen! "Get out" he said, harsh much? I shook my head. I finally decided to put his suffering to an end. I walked to him and he looked alarmed. I smiled sweetly before twisting his ears. He growled angrily making me chuckle but I did not stop. I twisted his ears again and pinched slightly before letting them go. "You have the courage to come to my house and treat.." "It stopped" I said referring to his sneezes, making him frown. "It so happens that I know you more than you know yourself" I regretted immediately. I shouldn't have said that. "You were pretty close to me weren't you?" his voice turned harsh, as he pulled me close. "I was" I stressed and he smirked. "Like brother like sister" he commented making my blood boil. "Never faithful to the loved ones" he added. "Don't you dare" I hissed. "Don't I dare what! Accuse you of something you've done? Accuse you of having cheated on me?!" he spoke menacingly. His grip on my waist tightened and I realized I still hated him. Hated him more than I ever loved him.
