Your ex-wife's sister is now your bride! A voice echoed inside my head giving me bitter feelings. How unexpected life is. A few months back I was living a happy life with a woman who was my love, my wife, my child's mother, my everything. I did everything for her but seems like it wasn't enough for her. Now here I'm standing in front of her sister. Both sisters have resembling facial features. She has the same eyes and the same lips and looking at her elevates by anger. If it wasn't for my innocent Oliver then I would have never married her. Both sisters are the same. "You may kiss the bride." The words made me cringe. I creased my eyes and gave her a hateful glare and then kissed her forehead, retorting myself with lighting speed. She could have barely felt the touch. Finally, this annoying function ends and I loosened my tie which was suffocating me all of sudden. It was just a simple wedding and only the close friends and family members were invited. Going through some other formalities, I was now free to go home. My mom was carrying my son and I smiled at the little gentleman who was giggling while moving his arms for me to carry him. "My baby!" I carried him and rubbed my nose against his dimples. He opened his mouth and tried to bite on my cheek which I really enjoyed as he just has two teeth and that so aren't completely out from his jaws. I like to play with him. He is my center of the universe. He looked over my shoulder and began to jump in my arms in excitement. I turned to look behind myself and my smile dropped when I saw Adriana there. Oliver opened his arms for her and she took him from me. Oliver wrapped his tiny arms around her neck and nuzzled his face in her chest. She kissed his forehead and he yawned, rubbing his eyes. She caressed his head and he closed his eyes, clutching the hem of the neckline of her gown. "He is tired." She said, smilingly. "I can see that," I replied, curtly. Her face became blank and then sad. I don't like the idea of us as a couple. We used to be as good friends but now nothing is the same. Why every time when we think that everything is fine and life chooses to play its games as life doesn't want a straight boring plot. It has its own tricks and twist though we like them or not. "Let's go." I wore my sunglasses and adjusted my tie before striding towards the car. I opened the door for her as she was holding my son in her arms. She got in and I inclined forward to secure the seatbelt around her. She looked totally confused by our proximity. She was always a shy girl contrary to Serena who was bold and confident. I clipped lock the belt and walk to my side. Igniting the engine, I drove the car out of the venue. The drive was silent as Oliver was sleeping and I wasn't in the mode of talking at all. I can't adjust myself to this relationship. I had never thought we would end up like this. This is so awkward. After a few minutes of the drive, we were finally reached our home. I went to her side and carried my son in my arms and strode inside. I saw Nancy standing there, holding a bouquet of red roses in her hands. "Congratulations, Sir!" She beamed and I just nodded my head, kissing the forehead of my Oliver. "Where is the bride, Sir?" She asked, her gaze wandering behind me, looking for the bride. "She is here. Don't worry about her and take Oliver to his room." I asked her and she took Oliver from my hands after putting the bouquet on the table. When she disappeared from there, I went to my room and closed the door. My eyes became red when I saw the flowers on my bed and candles flickering in the room. Everyone knows really well about the circumstances in which I have decided to get married to her and still they have guts to make fun of it by making it romantic.I threw the bedsheet away and the petals flew all around. I laid on the bed with my legs hanging down. I palmed my face and closed my eyes. Her face and the moments I have spent with her began to play in front of my eyes. Four months ago: It was a usual night and I came late from my work as I was working on an important project. I was really tired but put a smile on my face for her. I entered home and silence welcomed me. I go to the room and heard some shuffling sounds in the closet.I peeked inside and there she was packing her stuff. I became confused. I knocked on the door and she flinched, placing her hand on her chest. She looked at me and her face turned red. It added more to my puzzlement. "What are you doing, love?" I asked. She wiped the sweat from her forehead though it was freezing cold outside. "I- I was just taking out my old dresses. I want to give them to some poor." She said and smiled awkwardly. I walked to her and wrapped my arms around her waist. Her eyes were on my chest and she was looking nervous. "But this is the new dress that you have just brought yesterday! Are you hiding something from me?" I pointed out, looking at the red dress folded on the top of other dresses. "N- no. Mm- actually, I wanted to give away my new dresses too as they also deserve the good things and not just what we don't wear." She said, biting her nails. I smiled. "I thought you would be angry if I told you." She mumbled. "Why would I get angry? This is a good thing if you want to help someone and plus I love you for your such kind and generous nature. Why are you so sweet?" I kissed her forehead and pulled her mor to myself. "Thank you and I love you. You are the best!" She replied and hugged me tightly. "Where is our boy?" I asked her about Oliver. "Adriana is taking care of him tonight as I was not feeling well." She said. "He is our son but most of his time spend with Adrianna. You should give him more time." I said as I was noticing her lack of interest in Oliver. "I know but I'm just too confused about parenting. It's our first child and I don't know why but I feel depressed when I hear him crying all day. He seems to be more happy with Adrianna than he is with me." She said and I heard her sobs. "Hey! Don't cry. I can understand and I know you will learn soon about parenting because I know you have the potential to be the best mother in the world." I consoled her and she smiled. Her smile was everything for me. Giving her a big smile, I pecked her forehead. She looked in my eyes and rested her head on my chest. I sighed. Everything seemed so calm and beautiful. I felt completed. The ordinary night, once again, turned into a memorable one. The entire night she was the one to whom I surrender myself. I never like someone giving me orders and nobody dared either but when it comes to her, I love to surrender myself. The night was beautiful but who knew the morning will bring a neverending gloominess in life. I found the bed empty. She was not beside me. A letter she left and some words were written in the black ink. She wasn't guilty or embarrassed but in her opinion, she was free to choose her happiness, and a girl for whom I gathered all the happiness from my life, left me because she wasn't satisfied. I gave her my heart but she thought it is easy for men to give their heart to every other woman but the silly she didn't know the heart is very sensitive though it's of male or female and when it got rejected or broken then it takes a right person with an innocent heart to convince it to dip in the pool of love. And after her, I don't think anybody can convince my heart. I was a powerful man but she brought me on my knees and I was happy because I loved her. Why couldn't she love me back? Was our relationship so weak that a single piece of paper broke it? Whatever women have always proved greedy and selfish! I was wrong to think love does exist because it doesn't! *Baby's crying I heard Oliver's crying and got up from the bed. I was shocked to find the tears in my eyes. Did I cry for her? It is disgusting! I wiped my tears with my sleeves and strode out to see my son, my life. I saw him crying on the couch and no one was beside him as if he was an orphan! It boiled my blood and I clenched my teeth, fisting my palms. "Adrianna!" I shouted out. And then I saw Oliver changing his side and he was about to fall when I ran to help him before I could have saved him, he landed on the floor and his screams echoed in the hall. My heart constricted at his cried and I don't know what I'm going to do with that girl because I'm losing my temper. "ADRIANNA!" ____________
