Kidnapper's Regret

Chapter 1

"Clean it better, look how much dust is still there and even the decoration is not done properly... You lazy b***h move your hands faster" kicking Emerald Jenny leaves, who had arranged a last minute party for her daughter Jimmy's birthday at Smith mansion, which was supposed to be celebrated in one of their hotels.

"Mommy... Mommy" calls Jimmy, "What should I wear, I am really confused and look the guest will arrive soon, yet the things are not in place" she instigates Jenny again and gives a cunning glare to Emerald

Jenny goes near Emerald and pulls her from her hair, cupping her face harshly with another one, "You b***h, I know you are jealous of my baby but remember you will never be able to stand beside her, your place is this" saying that she pushes Emerald on the floor and smirking both mother and daughter leaves, Helen the head maid comes and helps Emerald to stand who have bruises now

Actually changing the venue of the party at the last minute was Jenny and Jimmy's idea, so that they can harass Emerald who doesn't have any support right now, as Mr Smith is not in the city so both the mother-daughter duo thought of a plan to make the irritation of their itchy hands less by beating and torturing the poor girl.

It's not like Emerald is a servant or a maid, she is also Mr Smith's daughter but an illegitimate one. Emerald mom and father were lovers since high school but couldn't get married because of her grandfather who wants his son to get married to the girl of his choice, thus he was forced to marry a cunning, selfish and egoistic witch name Jenny, though he opposed.

Her father kept meeting her mom as he can't let her go and was still in a relationship after marriage and thus have their first child, Emerald. When Emerald was five her mother came to know that she was suffering from breast cancer and that to the last stage, so she took the promise from her father to take Emerald with him and do her upbringing and when she is capable enough then let her go, it would be ok if he don't want to disclose her identity.

After her mom passed away Mr. Smith brought her in the mansion and since then the things didn't go well Jimmy always bully her and Jenny used to beat her like s**t when her father is not around. It's not like Emerald is the older child of Smith, she is the youngest one. The oldest one is the son Jack Smith who always admires and love Emerald as a brother but as Jenny didn't like her boy being close to her more than Jimmy she sends him to the boarding school against Mr Smith's will and now he is doing his Masters abroad and comes during vacation or few days Holiday and handles his dad's business.

The second one is Jimmy who is a year older than Emerald, she is jealous of her beauty and voice since childhood and don't like people giving Emerald attention more than her, so to prove herself she chooses a modelling career and becomes a model and have made Emerald her personal maid, to be precise 'A SLAVE'.

Emerald was having a lovely voice which people like to listen when she was ten while working she started singing a song in low pitch which Mr Richard, a family friend of Smith's listened and appreciated her, "Smith your daughter is really talented and have the voice of an angel" he knew Emerald being Smith's daughter and always admires her. Listening to this Jimmy feels jealous again and she manipulates Jenny who next day when her husband was not around beat her and throttle her harshly because of which she lost her voice...

Actually, everyone feels that but it was Helen's idea who asked Emerald to do so... When Mr Smith and Jack came to know about it they were hell angry on them and from that day the relationships changed, Jack also got distant from his mother and sister. Mr Smith cried because he couldn't take care of his love child.

When Mr Smith or Jack is around they won't let this mother-daughter hurt Emerald but when they are not then they both remove all their frustration on her. Jimmy is turning twenty today but still thinks of herself as a princess of some sort, she behaves childishly most of the time but that childishness is not cute rather irritating... A rich brat who speak about and shows money everywhere and every time. It's not like she became model on her capability but on Mr Smith recommendations and Jenny throwing money on the shows for her so that she can flaunt herself.

Emerald was never given a chance to go outside and study as Jenny asked Mr Smith that if he accepts her publicly than she will take away everything from him as per the prenup signed by them. So Mr Smith left with no choice but though he enrolled Emerald and she was taught through homeschooling.

Emerald was interested in Art same as her mother and have the skills of an artist, so Mr Smith set up a small studio for her in her room. She used to paint in her free time and with the help of Helen who was elderly and loved Emerald like a mother, she sells those paintings and earns for herself so that when she moves out from the mansion she would have enough money to survive and a roof for herself. Jenny and Jimmy were unaware of this because Helen used to hide the painting well while moving out and never let them get suspicious about it.
