The dark alley echoed with the sound of his own fleeting footsteps and his rugged breathing but he knew he was being followed. She was in the shadows, A deadly and lethal part of the night She was like a terrifying phantom, a dreadful demon yet so much more dangerous than both combined. His heart pounding he continued to run Until he ran into a brick wall. This was a dead end! He whirled around sweat dripping from his face, his clothes clung to his body with perspiration The moon overhead hidden by the clouds cast a dull light But it was enough to see her, coming towards him with a predatory calm. There was no hurry to her movements neither was there any aggression in the steps she took towards him "Please ! " he cried out " Please! " He plastered himself to the dirty wall trying to summon up his power in a last attempt to survive. Though his hands trembled his power answered and he shot an orb of light out of his hands . She swatted it away with a simple flick of her hand like it was nothing more than an annoying fly . The only good the orb did was make her face visible to him . Devoid of emotions, a blank mask of coldness. The face of death.
