AN ANCIENT CURSE BOUND BY BLOOD AND MURDER

"The time is near, mother."

"These sorts of things do not follow the chain of logic, my child. You grasp whatever is in front of you," the Teller said, her blind-like eyes grave and hard. "Or you will never be free."

BUDDING ROMANCE UNDER THE MOONLIGHT AND AN ABSOLUTE OBJECTION

"Do you think I'll ever be him?"

She held his gaze, then shook her head. "I wouldn't want you to be either," she muttered to the blazing campfire. "I like how things are now."

He broke the contact first, an indistinct sentiment on his lips.

It was as if she could no longer see him the man she knew, but the boy he used to be and the boy he might still be now, deep inside.

"Will you dance?"

"Ruixue won't have the luxury of choices," the Queen declared. "If you do not choose among your suitors, then I will."

The whipping would not stop. Her body was immobilized by pain. Her heart ached over the checkmate of her dreams. And it was just only beginning.

DANGER TERRORIZES

Those brutes marched out the building with a young lady dragged in their wake. Those invoked by her misery met with tips of blades eager for bloodshed. The road from where they came now became a track of damnation and utter ruin as the folks stared on with fear.

"Yo, usagi. Okitaka."

"Who are you? Why did you take me here?" her voice shook as she asked.

He pressed the blade deadly close to her neck. "Where is the traitor?"

A TRAITOR ONLY IN NAME

"I think it's about time we hear some explanation."

"I'm its representative. And I will end the true traitor's life by my own hands."

TREACHEROUS PLOTS LEAD TO THE KINGDOM'S DOWNFALL...

"Let us make a deal," the Queen offered. "You replace his daughter's role with mine and I will let everything go your way. Smoothly."

...AND GIVE RISE TO A FORGOTTEN RULER

The world before him crumbled and toppled and collapsed into an only sensation of pain. The roars of the ongoing war fell behind his mind. Everything shattered and was reshaping from their very foundations.

"Wait, look at me. What the hell is happening to you?"
