Before I Begin . . .

515 Words
It's me again, back with another crazy ghost story. For those of you who have read my other story, Never Forget, this story is a bit different but will build off of some paranormal ideas I established there. With my ghost stories, I try to heighten the paranormal activity with each attempt, so things are going to get a bit more crazy in this story than you saw in Never Forget. Just to name a few, you'll see some manipulation, pyromania, and possession (Just objects? Just people? Maybe even both!). And some things you might recognize that I introduced in Never Forget, but the ideas were slightly altered to fit the characters and situations. And for those of you who have never heard of me or read my other work, welcome :) This is a stand-alone project I have been slaving over on and off for the last six years. It's actually the baby of my completed stories because Never Forget is 8 years old and Letting Go is 7 years old. I was actually going to post them in the order I had written them (Never Forget, Letting Go, and then Under the Starlit Sky . . . ) but I had a change of plans when I started binge-editing this story instead of Letting Go. So, for those of you who are interested in seeing more of Ash and Abby, I really hope you don't mind waiting until I've finished uploading this one (just give me til approximately middle of November to possibly start posting Letting Go). And in the meantime, you might enjoy the crazy world of Maggie and Topher :) Anyway, I just wanted to introduce you all to my story. I intend to have the prologue uploaded by the end of the day on Sunday, and from there I'm hoping to be able to update it regularly at least a few times a weeks as I'm still working on revising the later chapters. Also, to give you a slightly better idea of what the story is about, here is a longer summary: Maggie, a child a***e survivor, wants a fresh start. Now that she's moving in with her aunt, she sees it as her golden opportunity. With a new school, new friends, and potential romance on the horizon, things appear to be going as planned. However, when Maggie was 10, she befriended Topher, a young ghost boy who devoted himself to protecting her at all costs. Topher remains by her side but is wary of the choices she makes and the influence of her new friends. After an explosive argument, Maggie tells Topher to leave. But, she soon finds that Topher was protecting her from far more than her father's hands. Now, she is plagued by nightmares of her past, and Darcy, another ghost tied to Maggie's past, is out for revenge. When life takes a turn for the worst, her only option is to find Topher, but will she be too late? Thank you for reading and I hope you all come back to read the actual story :)
