Chapter 1

"Urgh!!" I groaned in frustration as my alarm bell rang. Tiredly, I rubbed my sleepy eyes as I got up lazily from bed, my eyes scanned around my small bedroom decorated with posters of female pop stars. It's Monday, the busiest day of the week, I rolled my eyes in the realization that I have to get to school on time not to miss my first period like I did last week. As I walked into my bathroom, the dream I had the previous night occupied my head, I rolled my eyes again brushing the thought off as I brushed my teeth, humming softly to my delight. I immediately took my bath and dressed up with my hair tied in a ponytail, uncertain as I glanced at my room window and head down the stairs towards the dining room. I found my sister Kate and Justin, my younger brother already having breakfast as my mum stood at the kitchen counter making pancakes. "Honey, breakfast is ready," she announced to me smiling as she pointed at my empty seat in the dining. I sat down and looked at Kate who smiled at me as her short black hair was nicely brushed down. Sighing, I remembered her discussing with my mum last night concerning her long crush Charles who asked her out, Kate was overwhelmed with joy because Charles has been her prince in shining armor. I smiled back at her and ate my breakfast silently as my gaze slowly diverted to Justin who sat, really busy on his phone, his mouth stretched in a smile. With a raised eyebrow, mum came over, tapped him on his shoulder, and gave him the look which says her number one rule "No phone at the dining". Quickly, he dropped his phone and ate his breakfast hurriedly. After eating, without looking at my siblings, I picked up my bag which hanged by the side of the front door, with a heavy mind, I head towards the door. "Sandra" I heard Kate call out, "Wait sis, I am coming behind you, let's walk to school together" She called out. Nodding without turning to her, I walked towards our front yard and waited impatiently for her, we attend the same high school, although she is in her final year, we do walk to school together every day. I, Sandra, have always been the cool kid both in school and at home. Although I am very popular in school, I won't say I am the prettiest, I just know my long brunette hair and dimples caught people's eye, and the most important thing that made me more popular is my grade in school. I am an A+ student and I try my best to obtain my grade. This made my peers look up to me in class, even teachers use me as an example in class to lazy students, although I am not always comfortable with the praises. I had a lot of friends, but that didn't stop me from having enemies, especially a girl in my class named Ammi who always looked at me with scorn full eyes, but I try my best all the time to avoid her. I have two best friends, we call ourselves the double 3, sounds awkward for a name but they insisted on it. Bella and Pearl are my best friends, the kind of friends anyone will wish for. Pearl is a blonde and a master flirter, she gets any guy she wants due to her pretty face and long eyelashes, she also boasts to seduce the new basketball coach, well she is very good at it and I won't be surprised if she succeeds in it. Bella on the other hand is the school drama queen, who always gets the major role in most of our school plays. The head drama teacher makes sure to give her lead roles due to her deep blue eyes and red lips. Bella is also a brunette like me but with brown hair but mine is black, I guess that's what differentiates us. With a banging body and a cheerful look, Bella always has boys flocking around her due to her beauty but she is never lucky when it comes to love and relationship, she probably changes guys every week as a result of this. But anyway, she is still my friend and I love her. Well for me, I won't say much about my appearance, I have the height of a normal sixteen years old teenager in Los Angeles, with my baby's face, most people say I look like a Barbie doll but I do smile and brush the thought off, I have full pink lips and my perfectly shaped eyebrows and set of teeth. The only thing I am good at is just my grades and my passion to write and of course, I also bake, a part of me that no one knows, apart from those things, I won't say I have another special talent other than being a nerd.
