Chapter 1: discovered by the sword fairy Yao

1674 Words
On the White Tiger continent, there exist numerous sects each having a classification based on their strength and number of disciples. The disciple ranking also starts with the handyman, outer, inner, and core disciples, and this classification is based on their respective strengths. The continent exists in a world with nine continents and each separated by a barrier, where sects rule the world. They also have a classification. Divine Sects stand at the top of the food chain and are mostly located in the best areas, followed by Saint level, then heaven, Earth, Diamond, king, and Gold level. Over the years, they are divided and have been viewed as more of a legend. Even on the central continent, the most powerful sects known are deemed to exist in heaven. The other lower levels lack the qualifications to be ranked. On the White Tiger continent, the most powerful sect is only at the Diamond level. The ancestors in such sects even have higher cultivation levels but none have achieved immortality. It is said that over the years, the laws on the continent keep degrading and thus it is difficult to reach the higher levels. Such situations have made even the so-called powerful powerhouses in the middle-level sects like the king or diamond level also just reach some levels and face limitations. It does not matter how one is viewed as a genius, in the end, one can only reach a certain level. In reality, having powerful ancestors does not give a sect high status if it does not meet the requirements of a number of experts to gain an improvement in status. Competition among sects also results in some being demoted, and if they do not escape to low-level continents or regions, they might be destroyed by others. The most powerful sects, however, still have another classification for their disciples, and they have labeled them legacy disciples. Such disciples usually receive direct advice on their cultivation from their ancestors. Most legacy disciples, in the end, manage to even take part in the struggle for the position of the sect leader. Some, though, have little interest in such issues and struggle to become legacy disciples for the benefits that come with it. For instance, a legacy disciple receives numerous resources and the sect's core cultivation manuals are always accessible to them. Legacy disciples have more authority than even core disciples and thus their talent also matters. Inner disciples or other disciples can obtain more benefits than core disciples as long as peak leaders select them to become personal disciples. The peak leaders also have the right to choose disciples as they wish without other people’s interference, as long as they make sure to remain within a certain number of every selection. It is also done so as to avoid them taking up numerous resources. On this day, in a middle-class Northern Vermillion sect, the recruitment of disciples was happening. The elders of each peak were gathered, except for the beautiful master of the sword peak. She was ranked at the top among the most beautiful women in the sect, and thus, most of the other male peak masters had a crush on her. The master of the fragrance peak, Mo Bingyu, only recruited female disciples and had a crush on the sect leader. The Thirteen peaks each had some advantage and disciples were only allowed to go to another peak if permission was given. The sword fairy Yao had a habit of wandering and it had been a long time since she had appeared in the sect. The peak masters were discussing how to improve the sect and thus selecting talented disciples was key. Each peak, however, received resources based on the number of disciples the peak master had accepted at the peak. Sword peak had been vacant for some time since the sect leader had just taken over the situation of the sect and passed it over to his junior sister. All the peak masters and the sect master were disciples of the former sect master. He had secluded himself just like the ancestors of the sect, in an attempt to break through further. Currently, in a remote village, the sword fairy was moving around, experiencing the mortal world. She had just received an inheritance from some strong person, so the resources she had on her were numerous. Moving past the village, she discovered a family that seemed to have been slaughtered by bandits, and thus she took it upon herself to hurry them. After that, she leaves by flying using her sword, only to discover another twelve-year-old. He seemed to have collapsed but his appearance even rivaled hers. She just remembered that she had not taken in any disciples so she landed only to observe him. The boy had some concussion and thus she used her perception to check on him and realized he was okay but only passed out. Waking up, the teenager seemed to suffer from some kind of amnesia. He looked around, seemingly confused. Looking at the situation and the clothes he had on, he had no recollection of what happened and who he was. Looking at the peerless beauty, he just kept quiet, and eventually, she had to take initiative to talk. “Little guy, what is your name? Where are your parents? “ She had an agenda and seeing he had little recollection of what happened, she took the opportunity to rope him in. Listening to the woman and looking at her pearl appearance, he was stunned before recovering and sighing. 'Indeed, there are things that science can't explain. Even with my Ph.D. in science, I still find my situation weird and worrying.' Lin Manman had been awake for some time once the crisis was over. He also managed to see traces of what happened to him. He took over this body once the host died and after taking time to confirm he was not, he passed out. Waking up just now was the final straw and the situation indeed made him think of many issues like transmigration. He had no memories of the previous host like most transmigrators. "It seems, this is my life now". He had low spirits and his face became depressed suddenly. For someone whose career has been going well and even a loving family. He wondered about his mother and father since he was the only child. Being a scientist in his previous life, he could clearly observe his situation and tell him he could die if left alone. His depressed state did not change his nature. He also seemed to have seen some looks from the woman. This was a very common look, especially when someone was admiring a commodity in the shop. “How about you following this elder sister and joining the sect? This elder sister will teach you how to cultivate and take good care of you. “ he just looked at her in a daze, but he secretly thought, "Back in my homeworld, we should call you auntie, why are you positioning yourself as some sister all of a sudden?" But seeing the sword she was holding he just nodded to what she said. "Indeed, she is a recruiter. She seems like she could benefit from me joining her sect. I have lost too much going and not going makes no difference", he thought. In the end, he just nixed to indicate his approval. She also remembered he was a mortal, so she took him to a hotel and ordered him some meals. After he had his fill, they moved to the sect and it took three days to reach there. She tried to talk to him but he just responded using gestures. In the sect, she seemed to be proud as she claimed to have a disciple. 'Indeed, this woman seems to hate taking in disciples but ended up taking me in just to avoid nagging from the sect master in this sect.' He could understand the situation. Arriving at the deserted peak, he had already figured out that she was someone afraid of numerous responsibilities as the peak leader. The most important thing was that he was still confused about many things in this world, with cultivation being one of them. He could understand that this 'elder sister' of his had just decided to select a handsome person for her peak since he was pleasing to the eye. The other reason was that the sect leader had managed to put some pressure on her. She had not taken any discipline at the peak, then the resources would stop being given. The peak would be used for another purpose. Such a statement was obviously a lie. He would not attempt to start a conflict with her unless he wanted to suffer. On the peak, it really looked somehow desolate and the moment they arrived the sword fairy looked somehow embarrassed. She also had to stay in the sect for some time to cultivate and break through using her inheritance. That night after going to sleep, the little boy eventually managed to get rid of his amnesia, but the incidents that happened during the day played in his mind, so he went outside only to discover he had transmigrated. The entire night he used all his methods and could hardly believe that things had evolved in such a direction. He had been dejected and in denial most of the time. An entire week passed and he came to the conclusion he could not help it. Lin Manman was the youngest Ph.D. student in the faculty of science. Every book ever written on scientific theories at the university has been read and also used the internet to gain some inspiration. He also had parents that were still young. Looking at them, one would think his mother was in her late twenties. The couple had been married early while still in college and raised Manman well over the years. But the sect experience was something he was also looking forward to.
