Chapter 1

923 Words
"Come on, Bree," I beg the blonde, who is already sitting on the sofa in her pajamas. She looks at me a little annoyed: "I'm really not in party mood today." I roll my eyes. Sometimes my roommate can be a real muffle, especially after a long day like this. Although I was the larger party-goer from the beginning, Bree really enjoyed a good evening in the club. Especially when her friends are there. Unfortunately, we do that much less often since she is at the end of her studies and therefore has to work even harder. The main thing we do not like my mother and her stuffy girlfriends. These hardly go anywhere in the evening and instead prefer to knit in front of the fireplace. And all because they have to work so long. Something like that is never allowed to happen to us! "Today is my farewell party in the bar. Did you forget that?", I look at her pleadingly. Because I can not show up there alone. This is my last relaxing evening before I start my new job. She leans her head and looks at me doubtfully. Do I have a chance? I quickly decide to shake off the next trick: "Noah has said that he will come too." I wink at her with a wink. Fortunately, my best friend has never been overly good at hiding her feelings when it comes to the man she has, more or less secretly, feelings about. She bites her lower lip and looks at me searchingly. As if she was checking that I tell the truth. Hopefully that's enough to convince her to go along. "Are you sure that he will be there?", She asks again. "I can not promise anything, but he told Rick at noon today that he plans it," I honestly explain, as I do not want to disappoint her. "All right," she sighs abundantly: "When's it going to start?" I glance at the dial of my watch: "At nine, so we have about three hours left." Expectantly, I look at her. "Okay, then I'm getting ready, but just because I want to be on your farewell party," she says emphatically, "And not because of Noah, as you might think now." "Yeah," I wink at her meaningfully, though I'm glad she'll come with me, even though she had such a busy day. With a big smile on my face, I disappear into my room to get ready too. About one and a half hours later, I'm completely finished in front of the mirror in the bathroom and let my mascara sink. Bree has moved in her room and has not put her head out of the door yet. This fact pretty much astonishes me because otherwise it's always faster than me. I drive through my dark hair one last time to see if my make-up has really turned out the way I wanted it. Then I step out of the bathroom and onto the door of my girlfriend's room. "Bree, can I come in?" I ask, as I'm interested in how far she already is. A determined Bree answers from the other side: "My door is always open for you." Smiling, I enter the room and fall onto her bed. She turns from the mirror and to me. So far, she is dressed only in a black high-waist trousers and a simple bra in the same color. In each case she holds a fitted hanger. On one of them, a tight black shirt is hung, while the other is a casual, blue T-shirt. Although it is the color of the latter, but the first fits more to the location that we will visit today. "What would you take?", She asks immediately, whereupon I point to the black. "Are you sure?", She chews uncertainly on her lip. The uncertainty is clear to note. This behavior pretty much puzzles me because I actually know them quite differently. "Yes, I am," I give her a sincere smile to encourage her. "But you have almost the same thing," she nods in the direction of my own piece of clothing. "Is not bad", first I look at my white, need free top and then shrug. "Do you think I'll like Noah like that?" She asks one last time. I tilt my head to look at her before I get up and walk toward her. She looks at me amazed and with raised eyebrows as I stop in front of her. "You're always beautiful and you do not have to change for any guy, just put on what you like," I talk to her conscience. First she just looks deep into my blue eyes, but then rolls her eyes and starts to grin: "You always with your moral sermons." I'll do it to her and smile. I gently lean against the wardrobe and watch her as she holds both tops alternately in front of the body. After a few seconds, she nods and hands me the blue. I put it back in the closet as she slips into the black garment. "Sexy", I grin, smirking with my eyebrows. "Thanks," she returns the compliment directly: "You too." I smile gratefully and then sit back on her bed: "How long will you still need?" "About ten minutes to put on makeup?", Indirectly, she asks me if that fits in the time. I nod and continue to watch her. Inwardly, I'm already in the bar where I worked the last year. The evening will certainly be unforgettable.
