LIBERTY’S P.O.V "Libby! Wait up!" Fran shouted from across the field.  I stopped looking at her as she came running across the field of grass as if some maniac were chasing her. Papers flying out of the box she was carrying.    When she finally stopped next to me, I asked: "What’s so important that you had to embarrass us in front of the whole school? We’re eighteen, college students even, we're supposed to be cool now," I tried to sound annoyed, but failed miserably, still, she looked around quickly as if checking no one had noticed her.   "Sorry, but you know I hate to walk alone. And just for the record, you knew I needed that last box. It’s all my posters!” she said her tone a bit aggravated.   “I need those posters, I mean what if our dorm look like trash? Then you’ll be glad I brought my perfect posters! They will make the room light up,” She said, her eyes could pass as stars at that moment.  I looked past her only to see her precious posters being walked down by the other students.    “Um, you mean those posters?” I asked her smiling widely as I pointed at the grass behind her.  She looked to where I pointed and her eyes widened in horror. Oh, the joys of moving day I thought as I saw her run over to her posters trying desperately to save them.    I couldn’t help but laugh a bit when I stood there watching her. My dear best friend Francesca. One of the few people who have a place in my heart. She and I have been friends for as long as I can remember. Usually, she is this calm neat freak, unless her OCD kicks in, then she transforms into a crazy, monstrous beast of a neat freak.   When she came back she shook her head sadly. At that exact moment, all I wanted to do was to lay down and laugh myself to death, but I stopped myself not wanting to add more salt into the wound. Instead, I started walking towards the main building.   Once we got to the reception a lady greeted us warmly: “Hi welcome to Rice university, I hope you will enjoy Texas as much as we do! I suppose you’re here for your dorm arrangements and general information?”  We nodded and Fran started listing up her information.   “Liberty Allan,” I said once Fran was done.  The lady started typing on her computer and soon enough I could hear the sound of a printing machine behind her. The lady went and took out the papers.   “Oh you’re studying psychology, how exciting! And with a seventy percent scholarship, you must be a bright kid!” she said her voice filled with approval as she looked down at my papers.  I nodded a quick thanks as she handed them over to me. Then, at last, she gave us our dorm keys.  “Dorm 120 for you Francesca and 134 to you Liberty.” She said and then turned towards her computer.  I and Fran looked at each other at the same time. I quickly dragged Fran away from the front desk, seeing as she was about to cause a scene and let's just say you do not want to be near Fran if she had one of those. Luckily for me, they were a rare phenomenon.   “Fran I know it’s not what we planned, but we’ll be fine right? We won’t be sharing the same dorm, but seeing as we're both majoring in psychology we’ll see each other in every class and after class, we'll study together. I think this is good for actually, now we won’t grow sick of each other.” I said so fast even the flash would be proud.     When I finally entered my dorm room after managing to calm Fran down I found my roommate sitting on her bed reading. She looked up and studied me intensely.  She was pretty, with her big brown and yellow eyes, a heart-shaped pale face and a button-up nose that was on the smaller side. Though the thing that was standing out most about her was her  big, curly, long, raven black hair. It was beautiful.    After what seemed like an hour I tried breaking the awkward silence.  "Hi, I’m Liberty, but you can call me Libby... So aperently you're my new room mate,"  I said awkwardly, waving my hand even more awkwardly to her.  She looked at me one more time before giving me a small smile and said, "Hi Libby, I’m Jasmine, though you can call me Jas".  She looked away and started reading again.    I looked around the dorm room. It was bigger than I had expected. It was a square, With two windows on each side facing the door. Under each window, there was a bed and a nightstand. On my side of the room at the end of the bed stood a huge closet. At Jasmine’s side was a door that I presumed led to the bathroom.    Jasmine had decorated her side of the room simple, basically, everything was purple. And she was clearly a fan of rock and books, considering the posters that graced her walls along with the books that filled her entire nightstand. I liked the look of it, but it wasn't exactly my style.   When I was done studying the dorm I started the job of decorating my side of the room. Once I was done I looked proud at my creation. My style was simple, cheap and really classy if I must say so myself. I liked my color code, white-grey-black, and green. I was also a fan of soft cozy materials, which became evident in my choice of bedding, rugs, and pillows. However, my eyes were quickly drawn to one specific element of my decorations.    On the nightstand stood a picture. Looking back at me were two identical girls, hugging each other lovingly. Their faces were lit up by their smiles. The nature around them making the picture seem almost real.  However, I knew it wasn’t. How could it be when one of them didn’t grace the earth by her presence anymore? My twin sister, Hope who died last year was the reason that picture could never become a reality again.   I silently cried when I looked at her thinking of how much she would have loved to be here with me. I quickly dried the tears away with the back of my hand, calming myself down as I sat on my bed.    Then I looked over at Jasmine who was still reading.  "So are you also a freshman?" I asked her.  She looked up from her book.  "Yes I am, I arrived just four hours before you," she answered me before looking down at her book again.    Just as I was about to ask her more about herself someone knocked on the door. I stood up and opened it. Outside stood none other than Fran. She squealed excitingly before dragging me out of the room.   "What's going on Fran?" I asked her as we walked down the hallway.  "We're going out, My amazing roommate Olivia know about this back to school party and we’re going!" she said excitedly.   Before I had time to say anything else she started babbling about her new amazing roommate. They had a great time matching their posters and doing their beds in the same style. When Fran continued talking about Olivia I tuned out and started observing the school.    We were walking outside now, The grass field was full of colorful flowers and there were huge bushes lined up beside the path we walked on. As we passed some trees I saw a shadow. It was probably just a student, but there was something about it. It caught my full attention. Then it disappeared, and I forgot all about it as we continued walking.
