Meet the Coleson's

You wouldn't believe what happened this week, I woke up like every other day my brother Týr was outside my door arguing with my sister Willow, up until last year they were the best of friends, I walked out of my room to hear my mother yelling up the stairs for them to knock it off and get ready for school, I slowly made my way to the bathroom to be greeted with my annoying not so little brother Mani coming out of the bathroom and messing with me, as my youngest sister Rain came running up to me and jumped into my arms.

My mother was really big on either naming us after nature or one of the gods. 

Oh I should introduce myself I am Sky Lilly Coleson tomorrow is my 17th birthday, for the most part, we're a normal family although my mothers a bit off from time to time, she thinks we're oh so special, the only thing special about us is the fact that we're all pretty socially awkward otherwise normal, we go to school, study, worry about our future you know normal teenage things, I have 2 brothers Mani who is 15 and my best frenemy then there's Týr who is 13 I have my two sisters Willow who is 12 and my baby sister Rain who just turned 5 then of, course there's my mom.

My mother yells up for us to get downstairs so we can eat before getting off to school or we will go to school hungry, we all managed to get ready for school and downstairs in plenty of time for breakfast

As I entered the kitchen my mother walks up to me and embraces me in a big hug kissing me on the forehead.

My babies turning 17 tomorrow I'm so excited now don't worry whatever happens I have faith in you and I know you can handle it, as she walks away she makes some statement under her breath about shattering a whisky bottle in her boyfriend's hand on her 17th birthday scared the crap outta her.

She's always making weird statements like that, She also loses things and wanders around yelling at the house, Give me my got damned keys back right the f**k now why the hell are you even in my house give me my crap and get the hell out ...

yeah, she's a bit off but she's good people and would give anything for us kids, and she always seems to know when there's something wrong with us for example once I fell and hurt my ankle my brother Mani grabbed me and helped me home but as we were walking up she was unlocking the car and telling him to put me in so she could take me to the hospital, whenever I asked her about how she always seemed to know when something was wrong with us she'd just smile and say, oh honey it's mothers intuition besides we're special.

It's been this way since as far back as I can remember we get hurt she knows, someone's sick in the family she knows, someone's pregnant she knows, do you have any idea how annoying it is when your mother knows everything, well let me tell you it's annoying.

So I ask my ma if we are going to do anything for my birthday tomorrow?  just a small family gathering me her my siblings a big dinner and a cake you'll probably be tired so you can miss school in the morning, I tried to argue, No I have finals I'm graduating this year I can't miss to much school, she just responds with yeah I know but trust me it's necessary.

UGH, sometimes she's so cryptic! I grab my bag kiss my little sister Rain on the head and head out to school, my brother Mani runs out right after.

Mani: Hey I wasn't even done with my breakfast,

Sky: yeah Mani but I had to get out of there, the closer it gets to my 17th birthday the more cryptic and wired mom gets it's giving me a headache

Mani: oh common Sky you know mom is weirdly always right 

Sky: yeah Mani but she isn't saying ANYTHING just keeps making these wired statements, like what was that about her breaking a bottle in her boyfriend's hand, or that crap about I'm going to be tired tomorrow why is she going to wake me up at 3 am or something, why's she gotta be so weird

Mani: ........ Ummm Sky what are you talking about I mean yeah she said the thing about you being tired but she didn't say anything about breaking a bottle 

Sky; Umm yes she did when she went to put eggs on Rain's plate how did you not hear her you were standing right next to her 

Mani; yeah nope sorry Sky didn't hear her say anything like that, look we're here I'm going to get to class see you tonight 

Sky; Yeah see yah 

the rest of the day was a bit off I kept getting strange looks every time I turned around I was hearing other peoples conversations or people saying things as I passed them but nobody was responding to any of it, I kept getting mad for no reason then suddenly feel the need to cry and then laugh, when I walked outside to go home I tripped and got annoyed and the wind suddenly picked up and as crazy as it sounds it swirled around me, I know it's just my imagination but it almost felt like it was trying to comfort me.

great now I'm sounding like my mom! 

when I got home I heard my mom in the kitchen on the phone so I started to walk up the stairs but stopped in my tracks because an overwhelming feeling came over me almost like the air around me was thick and I couldn't breathe, suddenly mom comes running around the corner yelling at the house again.

Mom: I thought I told you to get the hell outta my f*****g house you aren't welcomed here get the hell out

the air suddenly felt less thick and I could breathe, hmmm guess I had an anxiety attack.

my mom says it wasn't an anxiety attack it's starting.
