The One- Chase's POV

1073 Words
I sat outside her house every night, trying to gain her attention. Every full moon, I waited in her backyard next to the warm 8ft pool for her to come out. I just wanted to get a good look at her. Every time she came outside, my wolf, Kiba, whined for her to notice him. I got extremely nervous when he does that. That night was no different. I sat outside in the backyard and waited for her to come. The way I was able to tell she was near was because of her beautiful combined scent: Strawberry Mint, that filled the night air. God, I was able to picture myself, licking her, tasting the sweet aroma that suffocated every parts of her body. Her peppermint alone was driving me crazy. The way it filled my wolf’s nose, causing his heart to race just as mines. The lights to the house turned off and the back door opened.  Kiba: There she is…  Her aroma drove my wolf wild, but her captivating beauty stole the real me. She came out in some grey shorts that showed off her toned legs. The white tank top she had on looked easy to rip off. Her amber colored locks rested against the middle of her back.  My eyes went back to her tank top and her breasts perked up from the nice, cool winter breeze. She wasn’t wearing a bra, either. It was like she was teasing me. Like she knew I was there. Stalking her and begging for her to come to me. My wolf got up on all fours and whined. My dog tag jingling as it was hanging on my wolf’s neck like a chain.  The young lady walked around the pool until she got to the side I was on. She sat down on the edge of the pool and stuck her legs in it, kicking and making small splashing sounds. I wish I wasn’t in my wolf’s form. I wanted to pounce on her so bad, make passionate love to her, filling her with my seed. She looked like she would be the perfect candidate for carrying my legacy. Kiba moved around, making the dog tag cause noise, once again. Me: Kiba, calm down…  Too late…  The young lady turned around and spotted my wolf behind her. She moved away from me, which was completely understandable. My wolf wasn’t a regular one. No, we were dire wolves, bigger than the average wolves nowadays. Kiba came out from behind the bushes, moving closer to her.  “Please, don’t.” The young lady begged.  That was the fear I had. I didn’t want her to be afraid of me nor my wolf. Kiba stopped walking and we both stared at her with sadness.  Me: Turn back, Kiba… It was a mistake… Hearing my words, my wolf turned around and ran back into the bushes. He charged off into the Redwoods as fast as he could. That was my territory. Well, me and my brother’s pack.  Me: Kiba, stop… My wolf stopped running and I began to form back to my human form. I grabbed my clothes off the cool grass that I had removed before I transformed. Damn it, I thought to myself. That’s what I tried to avoid. Now, she feared me and it was my f*****g fault. I sighed as I threw my clothes and shoes back on before I walked to my house.  “Chase.” Someone called my name from the side. I turned and looked at my brother, Matthew before I continued toward the house.  “Brother, wait!” Matthew called. I stopped and sighed. He caught up with me and placed his hand on my shoulder. “You’re annoyed.” He said. “I sensed it when you walked back. What happened?” I licked my lips, looking down at the ground. “I think I found one.” I said to him. “A Luna?” He asked. “That’s great! Where is she? Who is she?” “I don’t know. It’s this girl I’ve been watching for a few months now.  Today, I think was the last day for me to see her.” Matthew looked sad when I told him that. I shook my head, feeling defeated. Like my mission for finding a mate was an epic fail. That s**t sucked and my heart ached. “Don’t give up.” My other brother, Aiden said. “What exactly happened?” My other three brothers, Brandon, Kyle and Cole came to us as I explained what happened. Aiden nodded his head, his dove gray colored eyes staring back at my sea-green colored ones.  “It seems to me that you imprinted.” Brandon said. “What all did your wolf do?”  “He was just going wild over her scent and when he got close to her, it was like he had to be near her.” I explained.  “Wait, he walked to her?” Cole asked. “Yeah, he did. He caught her attention and she saw him.” “You need to make sure she is who you really want." Aiden said. “We don’t want to make the mistake of imprinting on the wrong girl.” “Sheesh, I hope not.” Cole said, running his hand through his golden brown short curls. “I’d be really upset if it happened to me.” Aiden turned his attention to the full moon before us and sighed. Our stomachs’ growled, empty from the lack of food today.  “I’m starving.” Cole said. “Can we hunt tonight?” “Only one can hunt, remember?” Brandon reminded every one of us. “Besides, as much as I am hungry, I am also trying to figure out how we are going to find our mates? California has beautiful women and all, but they are kind of… Boujee .”  “And, that’s a bad thing for you?” Kyle asked. “No offense, but we own a nightclub.” Brandon said. “We don’t really make that much.” He wasn’t wrong. Club Nightverse was our domain out there in Seattle, Washington. However, it had its on and off days. Some days, it was popping and some days, it wasn’t. I believe it was due to us only opening on Friday and Saturday nights. Whatever the reason was, we needed to step it up if we wanted to make it big in that expensive city.  “We’ll worry about that later.” Aiden said. “We need to focus on these upcoming months.” “Mating season starts January 1st.” I said. “That’s three weeks away.” “And our only time to plant our seeds into the womb.” Kyle said. A yawned escaped my lips and I decided to leave the pack, so I can get some sleep. I had another job in the morning: The UPS package delivery guy. I said my goodbyes before I headed over to the house.
