Shades of Fae The Ultimate Hybrid (Maliha & Rykers Tale)

Chapter One

Sitting on my bed, trying to get rid of this pounding headache that I have had since this mess started. I look up as my wall opens up to my secret passage, in runs Aliha with a scared and sad look on her face.

" Janessa you have to take take Maliha as far away from here as you can". A single tear rolled down her cheek.

"Aliha what are you talking about". My eyes were saucers at this point, I was shocked of what she was talking about.

Grabbing my left hand into both of hers and looking me dead in the eye with her beautiful teary ice blue eyes. "You have to get her out of here before he finds out she is still alive and he comes for her, my power is no match for her. I cant keep her cloaked here for long". putting her hands now on my shoulders, "the only way is for you to get her as far away from here as you can, hide in another territory, keep her hidden from the world as long as you can until she is old enough , and strong enough to come out and reveal herself so she can finally defeat him once and for all".

Looking down and shaking her head "I see no other way, she is our only hope. She will be the strongest of all of us".

Aliha looks me in the eyes with a very serious and sad face, tears bluring her vision now I put my hand on her cheek and say in almost a whisper "why don't you come with us"? Now my eves are soaked with my own tears.

"Janessa you know I can't, I cant keep her cloaked and myself as well. I have to make him believe she did not survive his attack. I am not as strong as I was before. I am to weak, I will only bring you down".

"I don't know if I can do this without you. I can't leave you behind". I stumble backwards, trying not to ball my eyes out. I manage to land on my bed somehow. My heart is breaking because I know what this means if we leave her here to her fate. I can't think of that right now, I love her to much. We have been inseparable since we were in 2nd grade. we become friends and ever since everyone thinks we should have been sisters.

She walks over to me and sits on my bed next to me, laying her right hand on my knee. I look up before she can say anything, the look of pleading in my eyes "Please with your powers and mine together we can make it work, I will do anything I can".

With a smile of pitty on her face she squeezes my knee. "You know that will never work. We may make it a few years but he will always find me, he has a vile of my blood, I will never be able to get away. I will not put you two in danger to save my own hide." Looking down now she goes on. "You know I'm right Jane, you have to do this".

She pulls a white gold, quarter size locket out of her pocket, she took my hand and put it in the palm of my hand, then gently close my fingers around it. "Keep this safe and when you two find a safe place to live, give this to Maliha. It has everything she will need to know for the future". She then waved her hand over it and with a gold glow the locket turned into a pen, nothing fancy just a plane black ink pen.

I look at it confused "Why did you just turn that into a crappy old pen"?

"Because if I leave it like this and you get into trouble out there, they will take it as a locket because it is valuable. Like this however," She wiggled the pen in my face with a tiny smirk on her face. "They will not want a dirty old pen, so it will be safe for you to keep".

I had a look of understanding on my face when I took the pen from her fingers. "Ok I will do this for you". Then my head drops and I take a deep breath and hold it a little longer then I thought before releasing. "I will do everything I can for her, you have my word". I looked her straight in the eye, taking her hand into mine now "Please promise me, if you ever find a way to join us, you will and we will do this together".

She looks me straight in the eyes and nods with a serious look, "I promise. I love you both, please take good care of her and yourself. Train her when the time is right and make my baby girl the strongest and kindest being this world has ever known".

She then gets up and leaves through the secret passage to return a minute later with a bag and Maliha's sleeping form in her arms.

I had packed while she left, with my abilities I was able to do it in lightning speed.

"I have her things here, some money in her bag along with some food. I also have some food and drink in there as well". She then gave me two passports and my license. My passport had my picture in it but the name read Jane Frost, in it. Maliha's had a picture of a little girl in it with the name of Lily Woods. I look up at Aliha and was about to say something when she waved her hand over Maliha's face and her face went from midnight black hair, angelic face with tan skin plump pink perfectly shaped lips and a cute little nose, to the little girls picture that was on her passport. Brown Hair, paler skin, rosy red cheeks and red thinish lips. Confused I looked up at her again.

"Why did you change her look"? With confusion written all over my face, she grabs my hand with her free hand and says simply "Because her knows what she looks like, She has her fathers hair and eyes along with my eyes, skin tone and nose. He will be able to tell who she is". I now have the look of understanding once more and shake m head as I mouth "oh"

It then hits me again and i look confused once again and ask her, "should I not change my look as well then"?

"No you are safe, he has never seen you before so your looks can stay the same, and with all the changes Maliha will be going through I thought it best if you looked like" she waved her free hand up and down at me " well you, unless you want to change it, I can do that also"'.

I put up my hands in front of me indicating a no wait sign "No it's alright, I get why I should stay the same, and if my appearance is not going to cause any attention then it is best for Lily's sake that I keep it".

"Uh ha I see what you did there," she did a little giggle, as much as she can muster in a time like this that is, " you used her cloaked name, and thank you it will mean a lot if you do keep it.

We then hugged and while in her embrace I mumbled "well I need to get use to her name, no time like the present." I said with a bit of a smile in my voice.

She let me go and said "Thank you so much and I will miss you bot so much."

"Here I found this around, its the most non conspicuous one I could find, I hope it takes you as far as you can." She handed me the keys to a car that I am taking is not a fancy 2019 chevy comaro or mustang, but something that wont catch any attention. I took the keys and gave her one last hug before parting ways for good this time.

"The car is parked just outside of the hidden tunnels that lead out of out kingdom, please be safe and take care both of you".

I bend down with again soaked eyes from the tears that have fallen from my eyes, I pick up Lilys sleeping form and realize, "Is she sleeping or did you spell her to sleep?"

Aliha does a small sad laugh as she tells "No I gave her something to get her to sleep cause I knew this would be to hard on her and she wouldn't be able to let me go with out possible being caught. Just give her all of m love and try and give her a happy childhood."

She bent down and kissed her daughters head with so much love and sadness, I honestly don't know how I am not breaking down right now. She says her good byes and sends her love and walks out of my room." Will I ever see you again my dearest sister?" I whisper so low I almost didn't hear it myself. I hold Maliha (I'm sorry Lily), I need to get use to calling her that. I am holding Lily in one hand, throw the bag that Aliha Packed for her daughter over her shoulder, and then picked up my bag as I walked through my passage door never to see my room, my sister, or my kingdom again, or so I thought at the time.
