Chapter 1

439 Words
I woke up early feeling unusually positive, I guess I'm just in a good mood, I have a feeling it's going to be a good day today. I climbed out of my bed and nearly fell over my dog on the way to the bathroom,I guess he decided to sleep there last night. Since he wouldn't move I picked him up and went to put him on my bed. After watching my dog attack my pillow I headed to the bathroom, again. I brushed my teeth, which took forever since I have braces. I got into the shower, washed quickly and got dressed into a simple jeans, t-shirt and pumps. I crept downstairs not wanting to wake the rest of my family and walked straight into the kitchen. I got out a bowl, a tub of yoghurt and the sweetener, since we don't eat sugar in my house because both of my brothers are diabetic. I sat down on the sofa and switched the TV on, I was flicking through all the different channels, eating a spoonful of yoghurt every now and then, when my mom walked in. "Good morning sweet heart", she said tiredly "Hi mom" I replied. After finishing my breakfast and not finding anything to watch on the TV I went back to my bedroom and grabbed my bag. Before leaving for school I waited for my two older brothers, Chris and Nathan. We basically walked to school together every morning, eventually they came downstairs. "Come on Valerie, we are gonna be late" Chris exclaimed, "Oh you're the one to talk" I argued. After a short argument and having to have Nathan break it up we headed out the door to school, it was just down the road so it didn't take long. We arrived at the gate and went our separate ways since we were all in different grades. There was assembly first thing that morning, so I put my bag down and walked straight to the school hall. After what seemed like a year had gone by, it was over and I was walking to my first class which was, English. I had gotten to class 5 minutes early and grabbed the seat right at the front so that the teacher would notice me when I raise my hand to answer the questions. Everyone started coming in to class and soon the lesson had begun. We were busy with a comprehension exercise when the door opened and the principal walked in, with a boy following behind him with possibly the greenest eyes that I have ever seen and they were looking straight at me.
