REGRET

520 Words
A man stood silently in balcony looking at the full moon, his black hair were flowing with wind, his white shirt could not hide his muscles. His electric blue eyes held regret and hope.  He sighed as he heard the knock.   “Come in”   His voice held power and the feeling in his eyes got covered with nothing. Right now, he was standing as a King. He looked behind as he let his guard down.   “Mom”   A woman in her early fifties stood in front of him, her brown doe like eyes held love for her child. Her long brown hair was tied into a braid as she walked over and sat down on the bed and patted on her lap. The man walked over and laid down with his head on his mother’s lap. The woman slowly caressed his hair making him close his eyes in content.   “Why, mom?”   The woman looked down at her son with sad eyes but did not stop caressing his hair.   “Xavier, you know sometimes Goddess takes our test and this is yours. Just hold on baby you will find her when the time is right”   Xavier opened his eyes as he shook his head.   “This is not a test mom, she is punishing me. I wished to not meet my mate, on my eighteenth birthday and now I'm paying the price of my wish”   The woman continued her soothing massage.   “Goddess is not cruel Xavier; you were a child. Just believe in Goddess baby she will for sure grant you, your mate”   Xavier sat up, looking into his mother eyes as he asked with a broken voice.   “When, mom? When?”   The woman’s eyes softened hearing his broken voice. Xavier has been waiting for his mate since he turned 20 and now, he is 24. There is no sign of his mate; he has searched for his mate in every country but he could not find her. Now he is blaming himself for the silly wish he made on his eighteenth birthday.   “Have patience Xavier, you will find a wonderful mate”   Xavier looked at his mother with so much hope as he asked.   “You believe so”   The woman smiled at him and shook her head as she replied.   “No, baby I know so”   Xavier smiled lovingly, hugging her tightly as if she is the only light he can find. He got an equally tight hug back, a hug that reassured him that no matter what happens his mother will be there for him forever.   They broke the hug as the woman got a mind link.   “Ava, where are you?”   Ava looked at Xavier as they both laughed, seems like his father cannot stay away from his mother for long.   “I will go now, but remember Xavier never lose hope because if you lose that then there will be not color left in life. Have hope and wait, she will come and believe me when she comes, she for sure will make a grand entry in your life”   Xavier smiled at her and nodded seeing his mother leaving his room. He sighed as he laid down and looked at the ceiling. *then I will have hope and I will wait for you My Love* he thought as he went to sleep.
