Extended Blurb

Warning: This book may be a little too dark for some readers. There's self harm, grief, suicide, and murders. If at any point you feel like you cannot continue this one, I want you to know that you can still read the last two books in the series. Fake Dating My Beta Mate, and The Vampire King's Hybrid Mate. Each book is stand-alone.  "I... I can't believe this, Damien," Kiara whispered, her blue eyes glassy with unshed tears. "You can't be like this," she reached her hand out to cup his cheek. "I know that there is goodness in you. You're a warrior, you're, you're a survivor. You can't give in to those thoughts. Please. You're stronger than this." Damien looked down at her, his lips cracking to form a sarcastic smile. He gently caught hold of her wrist, and removed her hand from his face. "My beloved Kiara, what makes you believe I'm a strong person? What have you seen in me that you say so?" He asked, carefully studying her expressions. She frowned, confusion clear on her face, as she blinked at him a couple of times. The look of pure naivety on her face at that moment made his heart race. How her plump lips were slightly separated from each other, as her chest heaved up and down in quick breaths. The way her eyebrows were pulled together into a cute little frown, and how her eyes were slightly narrowed. He wanted to take her right there. Against the closest wall he could find. "You... You've been through a lot, Damien," she said softly, after contemplating for a few moments, dismissing the thoughts in his mind for a second. She then proceeded to place her hand on his chest, stepping closer to him. Fuck, Damien thought to himself. Quite literally. Everything about her was drawing him in. He felt like he would lose control and pounce upon her any second, devouring her completely, until she'd be writhing under him, screaming his name. "You've faced so much in life, and you're still standing here in front of me today. That's what proves how strong you are. Trust me, Damien. You do not have to completely give in to the dark side. You've been through hell, yet you're alive. You can face this," she said, trying her best to sound as persuasive as possible. But Damien wasn't one who could be moved so easily, and her words only added to the fire brewing in his heart. His eyes began to change color, the crystal blue turning darker and darker, until it turned red. His eyes gleamed, beautiful and vibrant, as if they were mirroring the condition of his bleeding heart. He let out a cynical chuckle, slowing shaking his head. "Isn't it so f*****g easy to say, 'What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger.' People say it like it's a natural process, as if tragedy just morphs into power and infiltrates into your blood and bones by itself. Bull-f*****g-s**t. It's you, Kiara, who choose whether to become stronger, or to submit to it. It's you who choose whether to stand back up, fix your armor and fight on, or whether to keep lying on the ground, beaten and cold. It's you, who choose whether to succumb to the darkness and let it swallow you whole, or to become the f*****g darkness yourself. It all depends on you, my Love." Damien gently held her by her arms, pulling her closer to himself, so he could look her straight in the eye. "And I, Kiara? I chose to become the Darkness." - - - - - -
