“We are very sorry Miss Fernandez but if you can’t give us a love song, then we have no choice but to replace you.” The boss of the female said. The female is a Songwriter, her name is Angel Fernandez. She has brown hair and dark brown eyes. Since it’s winter, she was wearing a white fluffy jacket and jeans on. She works at Musically, one of the biggest companies that produces music. It’s where Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Paramore, Bruno Mars and many more singers get their songs from.  “I apologized Sir Jack but… I-I really can’t write love songs.” Angel said in a soft voice. “Look Angel, you are one of the best Songwriters here in Musically but we can’t keep accepting your sad or brokenhearted song. We need something new from you otherwise Musically is just going to be about depression, stress, disappointment or somewhere in that line.” Jack explained and Angel just sadly smiled. She had a worried face on because there’s a high chance that she could lose her job and it is the only job that she was good at. She can’t blame herself though because she never wrote a love song.  “I’m… I’m really sorry Sir Jack.” Angel said once again and Jack sighed. He knew so well how important the job for Angel and it hurts him to see her like this. “How about this, I will give you one month to write me a love song and I will even let you choose who will sing it. Not only that, since everyone knows about your songs then it will be easier for us to find the singer you want and work with them. I will also give you a bonus if the song became a top hit in this country. How does that sound?” Jack suggested and Angel nodded once. “I will try my best Sir Jack.” She softly said and politely smiled. “I am really sorry about this but the generations today wants something romantic or a rock n roll music, no one is really into sad music anymore. I hope you understand that Angel, you are one of my best Composer and I would hate to have to remove you on the team.” Jack sincerely pointed out. “I understand Sir Jack, thank you for your concern.” Angel slightly bowed before she left the room. Angel stood at the other side of the door for more than three minutes before deciding to leave. She gripped on the folders that she was holding, it is where she recently wrote a song about a child who suicide because of bullying. As she was walking towards the exit, her workmates were staring at her, judging her behind her back. Whispering to each other on how miserable her life was. Angel can hear some of what they were saying but chose to ignore them. “I heard that her parents abandoned her because she was imperfect!” “Did you know that both of her parents cheated on each other? That’s why she never believed in love!” “Here songs may be popular but she is starting to go down where she belongs.” “My songs are better than her, she’s just the boss’s favourites that’s why she’s still here.” “One day, no one will even know that she ever existed.” “I’m pretty sure she was the one who killed her parents due to depression.” After Angel passed all of them, a tear fell from her eyes. Only she knows the real story of what really happened with her parents. Ever since she was sixteen, she had to live on her own and learn how to survive. This is because her parents both left her when she was a legal age. They left her some money that was enough for a few months but she managed to fend for her own. When she reached eighteen, that’s when she found out about Musically. To apply, she has to write a song in order for the company to accept her. She was the one who wrote the Brokenhearted by Karmin which she qualified. Starting from that day, she works for Musically to get extra income. Angel finally made it to her apartment and as soon as she did, she dropped her folders on her bed then went to the toilet. She stared at herself in the mirror for more than a minute before deciding to remove her jacket that reveals multiple cuts on her arms. Some were fresh and some were old. Since she was only wearing a singlet, she went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife then started cutting herself again. No one knew about her pain, no one knows that she’s slowly dying on the inside, no one knows that with every passing day she tried to kill herself but somehow deep inside her she still wants to live.  She doesn’t know the reason but she believes that one day, after all the suffering and pain, she hopes that she won’t have to suffer anymore. That she won’t have to have a miserable life and her happiness will finally come. But she was starting to get tired of waiting, she wants her happiness to finally come but she doesn’t even know the definition of it. She wants to feel love as well but all she get in sadness and disappointment. As she sliced the knife across her arm, negative thoughts filled her head. All the judgement she gets from her colleagues, all the negative feedback, the one month that she has left that could get her to lose her job. Blood kept oozing out of her arms as she continuously cut herself. This was the only thing that she could do to ease the pain, to forget about everything. She felt great as she adds more cut, she forgets all pain that she was feeling and the most important of all, her body felt numb so she doesn’t even know how much blood she was losing until she lost her consciousness. By the time she fell down to the ground, her next door neighbor Sean just arrived from work. Sean is one of her closest friends who always looked after her since she moved at the apartment. Sean also knows about the cuts she’s been doing so he always makes sure that she was fine.  They’ve been friends for five years now but he never actually knew what happened on Angel’s parents or why she kept cutting herself. After he sort out his stuff, he went to Angel’s apartment and pressed the doorbell.
