"Good morning. This is Atty. Chastity of Brawner and Associates. I am calling to request for the resetting of my client's hearing. My client, Mr. Clint Swaraj, is gravely ill and he is confined in a hospital for treatment. He cannot attend the hearing next week and testify about his innocence." Upon hearing the positive response of the court staff on the other line, Chastity curved her lips with a smile. Lifting her head up, she felt the breeze brought by the sea. Ah, finally! After a month of straight court hearings, client meetings and drafting pleadings, she is going to own the weekend for herself. Yes, she is traveling to an island called Patmos. What a relief! Chastity was so engrossed on the conversation she just had that she barely noticed the rising commotion around her. It was too late when she looked around and saw people panicking, running all around the ship and looking for ways to save themselves. "What's going on? Tell me what's going on," she shouted on her mind. All of a sudden, she felt a strong jolt that threw her body five meters away from her chair. Blag! Ah! She felt her head splitting with pain. God must be good that she was not thrown straight to the sea. She felt her world spinning around in circles. Yes, she is in a daze. Wait, why is there something like liquid falling on her ears? Slowly, Chastity, felt it then automatically put her hand up to see what it is. "It is blood, blood from my head!" she uttered in horror as she realized what was happening. "Help, help me please. Save me," Chastity uttered weakly. "Why is nobody coming to my aid?" she wondered. Slowly, she opened her eyes only to realize that the ship is shattered and people are on the same state as her. Some are already dead while others are struggling to stand up. Blood is everywhere. She heard cries and wails. Yes, everybody is in a painful state. But wait, there is more. Is that water filling the ship? Is our ship sinking? She shivered as the thought registered on her brain. "No matter what, I should live," she resolved as she gathered her remaining strength to survive. Struggling, she held the handrails on her side and helped herself up. Limping, she walked slowly towards the edge of the ship and stood up. "Chastity, you must survive. Promise me, you will live. You have to see your mom," she muttered to herself. Then with all her remaining strength, she jumped on the sea. Water, yes this is water. This is the sea. She felt herself falling down, down, down to the deepest part. "This is it, if I live then it must be another life. Mother, I'm sorry. I will do my best to find you," she thought as her mind is going blank. Then she saw something black. That thing grew bigger and bigger until it engulfed her entire world.
