To the country that holds secret

1069 Words
With the last breath, he took while hanging on that rope his life ended. It was the end he thought but it wasn’t. He was there very often. He was everywhere. He saw everything, he lived in everything while the only thing he wanted to do in his entire life was to end his life. It’s not a story not at least for him, for him it's life, the life he would always want to end but couldn’t get enough courage to. He wandered the whole world in search of what people called the happiness but there was no such things as happiness. The most pitiful thing he found was his existence as who he was. Who was he? Why was he there? What made him who he was? He wanted the answers to all of it and most of all he wanted the answer to what is happiness? Is the little pinch of smile that he sees every day on the face of that aborigine? Or it was the little dude who always used to climb up on him when he returns home. Home? What is home indeed? Why is that chunk of the blocks cement and bricks called home?? Isn’t home supposed to be the place where he finds happiness?? But why, why isn’t there a single piece of happiness in his home? Life was all normal all easy going, he had a regular routine of going to the office 8 hours a day, 5 times a week. He seeks nothing he was just passing his days as an officer in one of the reputed companies. He was never curious about life, the meaning of life, or what it means to be alive but he was always forcing his way to live just another day and that was enough, at least he thought it this way. But things began to change when he was on an office trip to Nepal.” You are lucky mate, you have just been assigned to a holy country”, one of his colleagues exclaimed. He had never been out of the country not while he remembers, but he was told that he was born in a foreign country and later bought up in this place where he lives. Told by?? By whom? His parents were dead long before he could see them enough to remember their faces for the entirety of his life. Actually, he was told so by one of his distant relatives, he was also lucky enough to live his life until he grows to be a man and complete college. He wasn’t poor nor that much rich. His parents had left him enough money to survive until he earns for himself. He was a total loner. And he didn’t complain about it at all.   He did all his background research on the country he was supposed to visit. He also booked hotel rooms which he found a difficult task to do as it was a remote country. After doing all bookings and checking he started to wonder how the country might be but quit the thought in instant thinking that he will know once he arrives there. He was still on his laptop, browsing through some other facts and things to do and not to do in Nepal. Once he was in another tab a pop-up appeared on his screen which showed “Know the deepest secret of your life”, he ignored it for a while and continued his browsing but on second thought he thinks to himself that he has to give it a try. He was ready to click the pop-up but suddenly his phone rang, it was his senior from work. Just after picking the call and responding to the formalities of his the senior began to explain his work in that country, what he have to do and what he is not supposed to do. Even though he was on the call and the senior couldn’t see him he was nodding his head as if they were together facing each other. After the detailed briefing of his senior, he was dazzled for some time as he was told he has to stay there for more than a month. He hanged up the phone, thought for a while, and started unpacking everything from the cute little suitcase which he had planned to take to Nepal. He was given a day or two to prepare for the trip it was not a single day as he was given time till the 8 of an evening of the following day after tomorrow. All his thoughts were gone in an instant, what he was planning to watch on his screen changed and every plan he made was flashing in his head. A while ago he was dreaming of roaming around the mountains and hills but his dream was just stepped in by a single phone call. Now he had to prepare for more, more than what he planned but he had no idea what to plan. He again packed his belongings everything he ought was necessary to live there. He even thought of buying the trekking equipment but it was nowhere near his home and he dropped his idea. At last, he was set for a new journey to a new place to somewhere where he had never been before, to the place where everyone was strangers. But before leaving his country he had no idea that this journey would change everything in his life, not only life but his death too. After the long journey of 12 hours, he landed with a bounce as if the plane he was riding was going out of the runway, but it wasn’t the case. When he took his head out of the front door of the plane a small breeze of the cold air landed on his face, he felt it with a long breath and moved towards the bus waiting for him to take him to the terminal. He was nowhere near shocked as he had already done enough research on this country and he already knew that it would take two transits and more than twelve hours to reach here. Finally, he was here, a country which he searched about but still it was a foreign country.
