BAVALLAI hated leaving Tilly behind, but I had no choice. Nobody escaped being summoned by Captain Brew. He sounded furious, but that didn’t mean anything. The causes for that could be as simple as someone bumping into him when he was having a bad day.
The doors to the bridge were closed and could only be opened by orders of the Captain. I stood in front of the scanner and waited to be allowed in.
Words appeared on the wall and a robotic voice clicked them at the same time. “Entrance. Granted.”
With a slight hiss, the doors parted and gave me access to the bridge. A thousand lights on the control panel blinked and flashed everywhere, and a handful of commanders were scattered along the room, each controlling their own section.
