Chapter 4 MeritHe woke before dawn, as he normally did, feeling more well-rested than he had in ages, which surprised him. He had not slept well since the war. Every night he struggled to fall asleep. Even during the rare few times his racing thoughts did not keep him awake, he slept fitfully. More recently, the kits climbed into the bed to nestle.
