She felt sorry for him really as he lay next to her in bed snoring, because she knew how difficult it had been for him to propose like that and her reaction had been pretty dreadful to say the least. He had taken it well though. He hadn’t got up off his knee until she had nodded assent, even if she was laughing so much that she couldn’t actually voice the word.
It wasn’t so much that she hadn’t realised that some Western men actually proposed like that outside Hollywood film studios or that Thai men rarely did it, it was the timing. They were about to tell him that Goong was going to get married soon, or at least had been proposed to, when he dropped to one knee and did it himself.
Sad really, but oh so funny.
