The lawyer changes everything and hands her the document again. Now she signs the piece of paper. Then the lawyer hands her a certificate, which she is also supposed to sign. She does so. Then she leans back. “Where's the guy?” The lawyer explains, “He's in another car. He hates being tricked and wants as little contact with you as possible.” Leila looks out the window and realizes they are driving through a gate. “Where are we?” Peter looks at the young woman and replies, “At the Anderson estate.” Leila looks at the huge house with an impassive expression. When the car stops, she gets out. Nicholas comes over to her: “Come on.” Leila feels she has been treated unfairly. She didn't want any of this, but this is how she is being treated.
Two years later
Leila enters her room. She sighs; her whole life is a nightmare. She has only seen her husband a few times since the wedding, and his family is a nightmare. No sooner had he dumped her here than everyone told her that she'd better do the housework and cleaning. She should earn her keep. She was given a mattress in the attic with an old, holey blanket. With so many people against her, she had no choice. She tried to run away, but her every move was watched by a butler. Her back is bloody, and she carefully pulls the fabric of her shirt away from her wounds. She was beaten with a bamboo stick whenever she did something wrong, and in their eyes, she did everything wrong. What was supposed to be over after a month took longer. Her grandfather—the only one who was nice to her—had a problem with his liver, some kind of disease, and he needed a donor. She secretly donated part of her liver to him. No one knows about it, and she has no intention of telling anyone. Today, there is a huge party at the house, and she plans to use it as an opportunity to escape. No one has paid any attention to her during all the preparations. She took the phone of Serena, a friend of the daughter. She hated them all. She quickly types in the number and cries with joy when she hears the voice. She whispers, “It's me, I don't have much time, but I need your help. Please get me out of here. I'm at the Anderson estate.” The voice replies calmly, “Can you make it to the garden?” She sobs alone at the thought of having him on the phone. She says, “I don't know. I'm stuck in the attic.” Now the voice sounds cold, “We'll be there in 10 minutes.” It's dark outside, so none of the guests notice that a helicopter is hovering over the house. Ropes are lowered onto the roof and a single window is broken. A female figure is pulled out and into the helicopter. The whole thing takes less than 10 minutes. In the helicopter, Leila lies in her brother's arms and cries bitterly. He holds her carefully, speaks to her in a calm voice, and when he sees her back, he gives the order to fly to the nearest hospital. No sooner said than done, and within a very short time her back is being treated. She is examined and then given a private room and an IV. Cole strokes her hair until she falls asleep. Then he leaves the room, but sends one of the bodyguards in. He quickly approaches the doctor and asks, “The results?” The doctor trembles: “She is malnourished and dehydrated. Her back not only has fresh wounds, but also scars from previous beatings. She has been severely abused.” The doctor knows that this man is not to be trifled with. He sees his face become more and more stony, then the man thanks the doctor and goes back into the room. The bodyguard comes out and stands in front of the door with a serious expression on his face.
“Leila,” Cole brushes a lock of hair from her pale face and watches her thick black eyelashes flutter. Then he finally sees his little sister's violet-blue eyes and smiles at her. “What happened?” Leila's eyes fill with tears as she tells her big brother everything. Cole strokes her face until she calms down, then explains: “You're coming home, and first we're going to take care of your divorce.” Leila beams and hugs him: “Thank you so much, Cole.” She pauses and plays with her fingers. Cole takes her hand and asks, “What?” She swallows, then looks at her brother: “I want to learn how to defend myself.” Cole nodds and strokes her hand.
“I'll take care of it.” “Thanks.” Cole takes Leila home and leaves a few bodyguards there. Then he drives to his office and calls his other brothers and his father. He briefly explains what happened, and everyone is furious. Her brothers and father have pampered their little sister, and she has never had to solve any problems herself.
The only reason she studied under the name Smith was because she didn't want bodyguards with her. They will make sure the Anderson family pays. Cole raises his hand and everyone looks at him: "Leila would like to take revenge herself, and I'm sure you understand. She doesn't want to reveal that she's our sister yet. Instead, she wants to learn how to defend herself and has asked for combat training. For my part, I understand that only too well.“
Nicholas
Nicholas is sitting in his office when his secretary announces a visitor. His friend and right-hand man is also with him: ”I'll get that." A man enters the office and looks at the two men. He is a renowned lawyer, internationally known, and when Cole contacted him and explained the circumstances, he was immediately willing to support the princess. With an indefinable expression on his face, he opens his briefcase after nodding to the two men.
