3 The rooms at Ultra were better than at the Aviary, Alice noticed. Larger, newer, a little fancier. “What do you think?” she asked as she showed Marnie to her own room. Marnie looked around and nodded. “Yeah, it’s nice.” It was more of a hotel suite instead of a standard room. There was a couch in the front area, with a coffee table and deep-cushioned upholstered chair nearby. Across from the couch, a desk and chair. All of it was the same in Alice’s room. A counter across from the bathroom with a small sink, mini-fridge, and microwave. Next to the sink a big wooden bowl of fruit. Alice had already snagged a banana from her own bowl.
