She awoke while he was tracing the lines in her palm absentmindedly.
“Hi there sleepy. I didn"t want to wake you up, but I have to head home in a bit.” A look of hard realization crossed her face.
“I don"t want to go.” Tears filled her eyes.
“I don"t want you to go either.” He pressed his mouth to hers for a long moment, tasting the salt of her tears on his tongue. “Here, walk me to my car.” He stood, pulling her off the couch. “Vanessa, Luke, I"ll catch you guys later, okay?”
