Chapter 9 The Sentence
The day had come, to tell the truth, that part of justice was the one that I was least used to seeing, since many times I have had to speak with lawyers and prosecutors for the many cases in which I was involved collaborating with the part of the victim, which strangely has caused that on some occasion it has been denounced by the lawyers of the aggressors, rapists and even murderers. Somewhat surreal to me, but apparently used as a strategy to reduce the sentence, arguing that if someone could see what was going to happen before it happened, their client was somehow just fulfilling their role, and that they couldn’t change that future.
A very poor argument for me and of course for the judges who quickly exonerated me from that.
