25th September 1888 25th September 1888 Confusion reigns within my head. I am troubled by events. They had me there, in that place, that bed, and I was in such pain of forgetfulness. Thank God for Cavendish! He is my rock, my anchor, he at least understands, and did not decry me for my folly. They have kept me though from the one thing that helps this pain within my head, my laudanum. Confusion reigns within my head. I am troubled by events.
