Pandora 8 Years Before... {Central University of New York. The beginning of "Us"}

Today I started at the university after a sabbatical year. I feel somewhat uncomfortable because of the new environment; however, it is a different breeze in my life that I need to complete my therapies. Thanks to Dr. Rivas I was able to overcome many things, but as she guided me there are other things I must face and do on my own. I want to major in psychology just like Dr. Rivas, she has been my best tutor, counselor, and mother after what happened to me. As my legal guardian and mother that she is to me, Dr. Rivas comes with me to campus so we can see my new apartment or dorm as she calls them. - Pan, are you sure you want to stay on campus? You know you can go to the apartment you bought; it would be better at least until you feel more comfortable with your new surroundings. – She says. - Don't worry so much, I must take this step. I need to do it, I can't keep feeling broken any longer and you taught me that, mother. - I tell her, and I can see in her brown eyes that she is proud of me, but she is also excited that I call her “mother”. I've been living with her since I was 14 years old, which was the age when I entered the witness protection service. She has always been there for me and has helped me with all my traumas and has explained to me why it is important for me to disappear for others but also teaches me to be myself in certain aspects of my life, but of course, with a different name. When I turned 17 years old, I asked her if I could refer to her as a “mother”. It was the first time she showed herself as a woman who lets herself be loved and who has a small weakness and did not show me her usual face that shows everyone as a cold, distant, astute and calculating woman. Luna Rivas is the strongest, most stubborn and insightful woman I have ever met in my life, and it is an honor for me to call her mother since I lost my mother at a wildly young age. - You're right, I'm sorry Pan, it's just that it's the first time you won't be home for so long and I need you to promise me that you'll come to visit me and that you'll also call me every now and then, no matter the time. - she tells me with her eyes glazed by the tears that urgently want to come out. - I will, don't worry. - I say for her peace of mind. We hugged each other and I felt the strength and best wishes that were transmitted from her to me in that simple but wonderful gesture. She has always let me know that I will not be alone as she has always done since this whole nightmare began. Once inside the dormitory building, I head to what will be my refuge for the next 2 years. I stopped in front of the pearl-white door and knocked to see if anyone is inside, but after a few seconds no one answered. So, without waiting any longer I look for the keys and proceed to open the door. Before my eyes I see a good-sized room with light bluish-gray walls. There is a window with navy blue curtains and two single mattresses, one of the beds is already dressed in platinum gray with some cushions arranged in an organized manner. At the foot of each bed there are two white L-shaped desks that are fully organized with black leather chairs that look comfortable as hell. I can also see that there is a large closet and a white dresser. On the left side there is a small door ajar that I guess will lead to the bathroom and it does. It is also shared with the other two people in the next room. Apparently, my roommate is very meticulous and tidy, that is something I appreciate since I need order in my daily life to feel good. I finish entering and close the door with my foot. I arrange my things on the unoccupied bed, then I reach for my headphones and iPhone to put on some music to get myself in the mood, adapt myself while I take my time to organize my things in my new temporary home. After organizing my things, I feel that someone is watching me. An electric vibe runs through my body from the nape of my neck to my feet. I had never felt anything like it. I turn on my feet to find a tall, stocky young man with a cold beauty that captivates in a way that is scary. He was wearing jeans and a black T-shirt that clings to his body in a way that calls for mercy and marks his muscles. His eyes are stormy gray. He has a marked jawline, bushy but well-groomed eyebrows, somewhat long jet-black hair and dark full lips that cry out to be kissed. "God, he is really beautiful! but what the hell is wrong with me, I'm not like that. Tell him something you silly girl," I think to myself. I see his lips move and I am mesmerized for longer than I should. I take off my headphones when I realize that I am in a total state of idiocy. I feel my face blush, wishing he hadn't noticed. - Hello. Need help with anything? - I ask him with a smile on my lips, a little nervous, but with a firm voice or at least that's what I want to project to him. - Hello, in fact, I was going to ask you the same question. - he says in a voice so thick and deep that it penetrates my bones and leaves me breathless. I notice that when he speaks, he has a slight accent in his voice, if I'm not mistaken. After processing what he has said, I frown somewhat incredulously at his words. - Is this your room? - I ask him totally confused by his words. - That’s right honey, this is my room. And now I want to ask, who are you? - he asks me in a warm and friendly tone. I'm stunned and speechless because I'm absolutely without a doubt, sure I'm in the Delta building, sixth floor, room 1903 and I know my roommate’s last name is Bloodstone. - Are you sure that this is your room? I think you're wrong, my roommate's last name is Bloodstone, and she must be coming at any moment. - I say totally confident while I hold his gaze while masking how nervous he makes me feel. A mischievous, cheeky and sexy smile forms on his lips. - I'm Bloodstone, Ethan Bloodstone. I must assume that some mistake has occurred as to the location of your bedroom, honey, because I personally reported that I needed a man-roommate, not a "she". No offense intended, of course. So, repeating my words, could you please tell me who the f**k are you and what are you doing in my bedroom? - he tells me still with his smile on his lips, however, the tone of his voice is no longer warm and friendly but somewhat sinister and cold. Despite being somewhat annoyed and confused, I can't help but feel that below my belly a warm tingle begins to form that makes me move in the same place somewhat uneasy; while hiding it I press my thighs together to push away that feeling that begins to seem kind of hateful and bad timed to me. He makes me feel nervous and uncomfortable, but he also makes me feel things that I have never felt before, which I find frustrating and very annoying. So, I take a deep breath of air to calm down, once I exhale, I take a second to remind myself who I should be here and not who I really am. - My name is Pamela Rivas, and I am more than sure that this is my room because I am in the Delta building on the sixth floor in room 1903. So no, I'm pretty sure I not in wrong here. - I let him know without bothering in the least to be polite but keeping my cool. - Since you are talking to me with such confidence and conviction, I will have to take your word and talk to Débora, the person in charge of the university dorms management, to solve this small inconvenience. - he says curtly in a deep scary voice and without a trace of the smile he had seconds before. Without saying anything else he leaves at a giant pace without any intentions to close the door behind him. I sat down abruptly on the edge of my bed and let out all the air I was holding without realizing it. "I hope I don't have to leave the dorms because, even though the house is nearby, I'd rather not have to live off campus," I think to myself. I don't think I can live with a boy like him, who has that aura of power, darkness, coldness and who is so handsome that he should wear a sign on his forehead that says "DANGER, WALKING SIN", I couldn't, even if it was mandatory since the arrangement was already approved. I've never been made to feel so much s****l heat, curiosity, and excitement in my entire life. I must put these thoughts aside if I want to fulfill my mission of justice. I'll have to call mom and see what's best for me in this case. In short, we are starting in the most incorrect way that can exist.
